Quite simply who wins the super 6 & why ???

That's why I picked Ward as well. Plus, Ward can switch to southpaw and back to orthodox. The only question remaining is whether Ward can take a couple of good shots without crumbling.
I would add that people are underestimating Dirrell, who has excellent skills and speed. The only question is his chin and his ability to keep up his assault into the later rounds. He's untested.

 

Similar to Calzaghe, do me a favour. When I watched Ward - Miranda I almost changed the channel cos I thought it was strictly come dancing Ward was holding that much.

 

Abraham has fought at 166 and looked so massive in demolishing Miranda in 4 rounds. I think Abraham vs. Froch will be an epic war of power and chin. I have a slight edge towards Abraham because he has a great devense and Froch has..... mostly NO defence at all

 

Both Kessler and Froch have difficulty with fighters who have speed, movement and punch from angles. Froch was 12 seconds from losing the fight to Taylor. It stands to reason that a younger, bigger, better-conditioned fighter with comparable skills (Ward and possibly Dirrell) would not have folded in the later rounds. Kessler will bring all of his experience to the Ward fight, but he was frustrated by Calzaghe's movement, speed and use of distance (not suggesting that Ward is on Calzaghe's level, of course) but stylistically, Ward could frustrate Kessler as well.

 

Froch v Abraham would be the best fight of the tournament- for as long as it lasted. It'd be Hagler v Hearns revisited, with Abraham playing Hagler.

 

Kessler prior to the calzaghe fight kessler was consider the best at super middleweight. Now that calzaghe is retired. He is again considered the best and i believe he will prove it in this tournament.

Basically this is how i see it. You have 2 unproven boxers in ward and direll. Sure ward beat miranda but miranda is not really that special. Froch and Taylor are pretty good but i think kessler can beat both of them. Abraham is still unproven at 168 and his best win is against miranda.

LOL. 14 seconds actually but it was closer on the scorecards than most people remember too, especially with the knockdown in the last round. I can see your reasoning, however Taylor IMO has better skills than Dirrell and probably Ward, far more experience and proven punch resistance at this level. I think that Taylor would comfortably beat Ward and Dirrell. I see Kessler as having the best chance, followed by Froch (very closely followed by Abraham), then Ward and Dirrell at the back of the pack. The Taylor and Abraham positions are also damn close IMO, in fact I still think Taylor may spring a suprise and beat Abraham.

 

You can't keep your hands at your waist like Froch does and survive a fight with Abraham. If Taylor put Froch down, Abraham will put him out.

Froch came on strong in the later rounds, but the fact remains that had Jermain survived the last round he would have won on points. I haven't heard anyone dispute that. He was ahead on all cards.
Ward and Dirrell are unproven. But that cuts both ways: no one can say conclusively how they will perform. They could crumble or they could rise above the competition. No one can say until they actually fight.

 

The fact also remains that Taylor didn't survive. There were a lot of factors going against Froch in this fight (1st title defence, foreign soil, Marquee fighter) but after a slow start he still prevailed even though it was extremely close. I can only see his confidence having improved from this fight. To get proficient at world level you have to fight world level competition. At domestic level Froch was used to blowing the opponents away but he needs to learn this won't work at world level. Once he grasps that concept and softens his opponents up with his jab and counter punches before going in for the finish he will be fine.

 

Froch has too much heart and determination to ever be written off entirely, but against a Kessler or even Abraham his flaws could be his downfall.
