Floyd makes fights a lot harder than it needs to be.You challenged RIOS so fight the guy! wtf? Rios is ready to go and you pull this ****.
This is looking like Arum's fault now. Why would he go this deep into promotions when he hasn't even signed yet and told u he's not happy about the deal
They are taking Gamboa for a fool and pressuring him to accept any low deal by moving forward without his word - 'he'll take whatever number surely'. Well, he won't! Top Rank has no respect for the Cuban because Arum doesn't see him as a giant dollar sign (not that Bob ever cared to build him up properly), and this was always set up for a Rios show, but in order to cash out on him, Gamboa asks TR to show the cash. :deal Unfortunately Arum can pretty much do whatever he like, offer whatever sum or breach contract by sidelining Gamboa, who on the other hand can only do this to 'negotiate', not that they asked his opinion before.
Oh yea. Now I see the similarities between Rios and Chavez * shoots himself in the head with old rusty revolver *
Floyd will actually ruin his career. He will think he can demand high purses and not get any fights for 2 years.
Again, you missed the point. Just one of many examples of the faster and more flashy fighter getting his ass handed to him.
I think $1 million is fair for Gamboa at this point. HOWEVER.. How much of that million is he actually taking home? How much is going to be taken away for various "fees" from Top Rank? How much does Oner plan to take out of that? It can say a million on paper, but only be $150,000 in Gamboa's bank account when all said and done.

Breaking down the points you have just made: Rios has a lot of heart - Correct. Gamboa has more skill - Based on what? Gamboa has often shown poor balance and at times leaps into punches, leaving him open and occasionally on his ass. Gamboa is also extremely wild when sometimes throwing combinations for the sake of it, this whirlwind style may finish off opponents of a lesser level than Rios, but Rios has a good amateur pedigree himself and won't be fazed by punches when they are not connecting. Gamboa throws better punches - Again, based on what? What is a "better punch"? As I see it, the "better punch" is the one that connects, it doesn't have to be thrown prettily, with speed or in combination with other punches. It just has to be effective, i.e. land cleanly on the opponent. Judging by Rios' KO ratio, I would say he is capable of throwing effective punches. Gamboa is faster - Correct, I would agree that Gamboa is more athletic. Rios may have to chase Gamboa/Gamboa may throw combinations then get out of range as quick as possible - Based on the above point, correct. Circumstances dictate that Gamboa will use his speed of foot to remain out of range of the larger Rios. However, if you actually watch boxing, you will know the difference between chasing and cutting off a ring. Chasing is when you simply follow an opponent. Cutting down a ring is, when an opponent circles to his left, as Gamboa will likely do, the other fighter must step across with his lead foot, in Rios' case his left, to constantly limit the space available for the opponent. Rios is adept at cutting down a ring and, though Gamboa is faster of foot, I actually think Rios' footwork as a pressure fighter is good enough to negate that. All in all, I think you are being very presumptuous. Like a lot of fans, you see a fighter with fast hands and flashy combinations and think he is a superior fighter. What you don't seem to understand is that there is more than one way to skin a cat and in boxing, speed does not always win out.
:dealGamboa should follow the Pacquiao blueprint where he signs crappy contracts w/o reading them and ends up asking Bob for advances to pay his bills
