I could go on to argue that Calzaghe has an Iron chin. Where as Hatton was hurt badley by a light hitter in Collazo.

But I will let you have your fun. :good

:D It took me until the week of the fight to come to it, both have huge respect from me.

It will be fun though, I either have the chance to look like a friggin genious or a complete moron. No grey area in between.:!:

"I have to outdo his work rate and make him think. I have to put him in the state of mind where he's saying to himself I normally like to throw a lot of punches, but this guy hit me with something and I have to be reluctant now. I just need him to think. That one little hairline second of thinking throws you off if you're not used to thinking before you do what you do. It takes you out of the comfort zone.
I see the fight being tough early on. I honestly do. Joe will be fighting to keep his record without a loss, fighting to prove to America that he deserves our respect. So off those emotions and off those talents that he does bring to the table, it's going to be a tough, strategic, high work-rate fight on both ends."

In spite of the fact that I'm a Yank and feel like vomiting when I read some of the Calzaghe fanatical fanboyism I think Calzaghe will eek out a narrow decision.

I hope I'm proven wrong but I'm just not sure that a 43 year old Hopkins' style of fighting can earn a victory against Calzaghe if Joe does the slap and run.

The one thing you can bank on in this fight is there is no way in hell that Calzaghe knocks Hopkins out. No way. Joe will never get a full leveraged punch off in this fight.

You keep forgetting Hopkins has height and reach, so if Cal tries to fight on the out side, he's out reached.
    Hopkins, 6 foot 1, 75
    Cal 5 foot 11 1/2 73 inch reach.
Hopkins has 3 1/2 inches total reach.
A liver shot puts Cal down, late round, and Hopkins by UD.

What you can do is go over the posts and summarize it into Bhops or Calzaghe column before the fight.

    joe t/ko

i've been getting less and less confident but im just gonna go for it now - joe will do to bernard what no one else ever could.. we'll see close rounds at the start - but will be given to joe due to work rate, then by the 4-6 round, we'll see bernard age in the ring, dramatically.

i can see joe stopping or even knocking him out if he really goes all out for it at this point!
