He doesn't want to fight at lightweight again, but he's ready to fight the Cuban fighter at 140 lbs.

"I still don't know if I'm gonna fight him, I hope it can be made at 140 lbs."

"if he doesn't wanna fight at that weight, I want Peterson, Maidana or Khan"

So, let's say goodbye to Gamboa-Ríos. I knew it would be impossible for Ríos to make 135 again without seriously handicapping himself in the process.

Everyone could see it coming, Rios can't make lightweight no more.

I can't blame Rios, he has no business at 135, hell he could fit in at 147. I could see why he'd want to try the Gamboa fight, possibly sees it as a easy win over a big name because the guy is so much smaller.

Probably because he underestimated the weight pre-Murray and even after!

Look at how he looked in the weigh in, he looked ghastly... its so obvious he can't make 135lbs no more.

It wont happen, hopefully we get Donaire/Gamboa and Rios/Maidana in stead.

Sounds fair enough. He's killing himself to make 135. Gamboa was a nice thought, but it was never realistic under the current circumstances.

Feel sorry for Gamboa, though. He's running out of opponents to beat on.

This. My friend has been harping on about this fight for weeks now and I've asked him the same damn question every time - at what ****ing weight?

Arum will probably still make Gamboa fight him at that weight since he has no names at 130 or 135 and has absolutely no idea what to do with him. Better to use undersized Gamboa to promote Rios' name than to let Gamboa crush Lopez even worse than Salido did.
