r\boxing takes the L again

Reddit debated whether Ezzard Charles could beat Canelo at Middleweight/Light-Heavyweight. Nuff said.

 

Think that's Ernie Roderick that he's facing. British welterweight and middleweight champ at points in his career. Decent contender, good mobile boxer. Didn't have anything to really trouble Armstrong but acquitted himself well in defeat.

Anyway, Armstrong doesn't get tagged very often in that clip, and some of the shots that do appear to connect are actually taken off the shoulder or guard in close. Plus, he effectively smothers his opponent so that the punches that do land don't carry much power. It's not necessarily as pretty as other fighters, but it's definitely effective.
