Nice stoppage here. Clubbed the man down viciously

Against Fighting Harada, IMO a top 40 alltime P4P fighter, and arguably a top ten Fly and Bantam. Rudkin gives him a bloody good go.

Against former World champion (GENUINE WORLD CHAMP) Caldwell

Some of the Rose fight. Rose IMO is a top ten Bantamweight. Such a quality operator, for those who have the seen the whole fight, they will know how hard it is to score (on away turf)

All in all, Rudkins competition and performances against these fighters cannot be denied. He was British, Commonwealth and European champion in a time where that really meant something.

At least his memory lives on in these fights.

Very sad news one of the first fighters I admired as a young lad.All 3 World Title attempts including the Oliveres fight were heroic. There was no easy route then,no plastic bauble World Titles. Into the Lions Den each time against all time great fighters and very unlucky against Rose and a great effort against Harada. R.I.P Champ.

What a great shame. Alan was before my time as a fight fan but everyone had nothing but respect for him.

    Longcount,

I'm going to do a memorial piece on Alan Rudkin, maybe it could go on your BBHofF website.

And I was always going to be pushing for Rudkin to be a first balloter.

You'll do a great job. I'm writing something about Rudkin which is about the division as well, not suitable.

Speaking of which I'm supposed to be writing about Benny Lynch....
