Just heard about Georgie - had to get on and say how sorry I am - difficult to express - just a fan really - only knew him from the other side of the screen really but always seemed like a really lovely guy - seemed like he really cared for his fighters and wanted so badly for them to succeed - damn it - sometimes you here about so and so passing away, and it's always very sad, but for me every so often there's one that really gets me and this is one of those - shucks RIP George and thoughts to his family

    My thoughts too.
I've got a lot of memories of George from watching the fights over the years.
There was always a lot of respect for him and rightly so.
    RIP George.

A very big loss for boxing, he was a fine fighter and arguably the best trainer of the late 80s/early 90s.

RIP George Benton. Great fighter, great trainer. One of the greatest of all time. He had a brilliant ring IQ and great defensive technique. Really a pioneer in the sport, he will ne missed.

A true Boxing Hall of Famer! Great boxer & a great trainer.
The personification of "old school" brilliance. One of Philly's best.

Dan Hanley & I conducted George Benton's last interview on camera.
We will be previewing that interview along with others at an upcoming
"Golden State Boxer's Association" meeting. The photograph was taken
during our interview by Dawn Paradis.
