    RIP Mr Benton, one of those guys I always expected would (and always seemed to!) go on forever. Thanks for all you did for boxing.

    Beautifully skilled fighter, wonderful trainer and coach. One of the best boxing coaches ever. A true master.

    Wow, this comes as a shock to me. I was just talking to Lou Duva about him a couple of months ago and he said he was doing well, just enjoying retirement. Shortly thereafter, i called up ESPN and asked them to make a note of tracking Benton down and trying to have him on the show for an interview to see how he was doing. Benton was a boxing genius in every sense of the word. He knew so much about creating gameplans for different styles, it is just mindboggling. He will truly be missed.
