Joey Giardello passed away Thursday at the age of 78. May God rest the soul of one of the greatest boxing wizards and warriors of all time.

My apologies if it seems that I'm reporting a breaking news story, but I've been without the internet for several days, and I've seen or heard nothing of Mr. Giardello's passing in the MSM, as is probably no surprise. After all, why bother to report the death of a former middleweight boxing champion, with all the f---ing garbage and trivia that they pump out by the hour.

Well, thanks to a state-of-the art, utterly devious virus called "Antivirus XP", I've been completely incapacitated for days, and I missed it all. Not a word about it did I hear on cable news programs, and I don't have ESPNClassic, or ESPN news, so naturally, the news wasn't worth reporting on the other kazillion channels that I DO have. Anyway, Mr. Giardello was one of my favorite classic fighters, and one of the greats back in the 60's who helped spark my interest in the sport. My rather belated condolences go out to his family, and may I say, he'll sure be missed.
