A twenty year old Mexican "boxing prodigy", said to be in training for his pro debut coming up in Q1 of 2026, was slain at home this week. A man was attacking his sisters with a machete and Hernández died protecting them.

I have no corroboration on this but my hunch is that his debut was going to be January tenth on the Subriel Matías vs. Dalton Smith undercard, as his close friend/mentor/promoter/"running partner" Jonathan Javier "El Titán" Rodríguez Valles (still an active pro himself) is appearing on that card facing Jeyvier Jesús Cintrón Ocasio. No doubt this is going to hang heavy over El Titán's performance just a month later.

****ed up world, man. 20 is so young. :ohno

None of the reports I've read have mentioned any other casualties though, so at the very least he succeeded in saving his sisters.
