WTF is up with the disproportionate number of shooting deaths of pro boxers?

Vernon Forrest, Tyrone Everett, Hector Camacho, Trevor Berbick, Corrie Sanders, Oscar Bonavena, Battling Siki...

That is just skimming off the very top of my head; there are dozens more, if not maybe hundreds.

I do not like to hear about fighters being shot, or killed in the ring. When a boxer dies it's a sad day..................How many have died from gun shot wounds? Corrie Sanders, Forrest, just to name a couple and now Walker?

He was still competing as of this July, despite having not had a victory since the rematch with Antwun Echols five years ago.

It must have been from great financial need.

A hard life, and cut short.

    Terrible.

He was always game, despite usually being on the short end of the stick in talent in the overwhelming majority of his matches.

    Ten bells, warrior. Respect.

Oh yeah. Still. A crazy number of boxers get shot, compared with other athletes or public figures in general (barring politicians)

Berbick was not shot but beat with a club

Chicago is shitt. Born in North Jersey/NYC and went to do my undergrad at the UofC...I could not believe Chicagoans can compare Chi to NYC...absolutely no comparison. Chicago is a desolate backwards wasteland and the top three most segregated places i have been to. the ENTIRE west and south sides of chicago are industrial barren ghettos. 40 miles of chicago in any direction and you are met with farmland for thousands of miles.
