Someone on the Brit forum said he was the 'Bruno of his day' and that seems to be true. Really rare for a boxer to be unanimously loved by everyone. He was way before my time but even as a kid in the 90s everyone knew his name. He's not the type of guy who will be forgotten any time soon.
This content is protected To the non Brits, i'd like to explain that he was a genuine legend over here, he transcended the sports in a way only those with genuine big, and decent personality can. A true ambassador for the sport we all love. Think i will finally get our very own Jetski to do me a commision piece (if he is available), i like the one above but might look around for another. RIP Sir 'Enry, legends never die.
He never recovered from his wife's passing a couple of years ago but he's back with her now. R.I.P to a true gent.
I think his twin brother passed away last year also, maybe it was the right time for him, if there is a god.
Late that couldn't have had him forever but others have said he's had his own bearevements lately and for decades he lived the left of a national hero with massive popularity on both sides of the atlantic.
a very good heavyweight in an era of greats - had a sledgehammer of a left hook that pundits called 'Enry's Ammer' - robbed in his last fight against a young Joe Bugner - close fight for ten rounds but henry's quality allowed him to dominate throught to round 15 - the decision for Bugner was booed unanimously and henry never fought again. check out his TKO over Joe Erskine for a sample of the power in his text book left hook . Universally loved and sadly missed Goodnight henry and Godbless .
