And he was so young...still had at least a couple quality fights left in him IMO. Could have been successful in life after the ring, too. Smart man, never absorbed too much punishment. And sounds as though he was just MHOB when these scum ****ed with him...and he just did what you'd expect any red-blooded male to do, and defended his property and his pride (and part of me feels when he pulled his own piece and gave chase, it was at least in part a protective move to get the situation away from his girl's boy...of course that's conjecture but that would be the logic racing in my head and by all accounts Vernon was a sharp, do-the-right-thing guy...)
unfortunately...my last memory of the viper will be having to wake myself up several times at mohegan when he fought sergio mora the first time....was real disappointing coming off the excitement of paul williams knocking quintana out...oh well rip viper
damn man, my boy just woke me up with a text telling me that, but i didnt believe it.......****, another sad day for boxing... RIP VERNON, a true peoples champ
What the ****?!? Godammit! RIP Vernon, but I didn't expect to be saying that. What a tragedy...another one.
Terrible news.:-( Vernon Forrest was a great fighter and a great person. I was looking forward to watching him fight again. God bless his family.
