although i was rooting for Marquez i expected him to get blown away after a short but sweet firefight.
i was more than shocked when he started putting rounds in the bank and boxing very well; people are slagging off Pacquiao's performance but the truth is Juan just didn't allow him to find his rythm. he didn't fight a bad fight at all, i think the majority of fans were caught up in the delusion that he actually had got that much better since their second fight and was now an unstoppable force.
i also think Pac believed that he would blow Marquez away this time and was more than a little stumped when Marquez was not allowing it to happen (and not cowering from Pac; i believe Pac expected him to, in light of his recent form).
overall i've watched it 4 times now and have had Marquez ahead everytime. the closest score i had was 115-113 Marquez, so by no means the huge robbery i first thought but a hugely unfair decision nonetheless.
i didn't see the HBO broadcast until a few days later and was quite shocked at their analysis. it seemed they were refusing to give credit to Marquez, yet praising Pac's ring generalship; which i thought was absent on this night. whichever way i look at it though i just can't see it as a fight that Pac won.

Neutral and scored it for JMM, I like both fighters, though to me JMM is a far better boxer, but Pac is extraordinarily gifted athletically.

As a Mexican course there's alot of pride involved, but as a true boxing fan expected to see Pacman do well so at least there is someone to compete with Floyd. When I start scoring a fight I put aside any favoritism I might of had because nothing is ever set in stone in boxing. Sometimes I wish boxing wouldgo back to newspaper decisions, but those have their flaws too.

I honestly beleve Marquez won the fight 118-110/10-2. There plenty of close rounds, most of which Marquez was slightly better than Pacquiao.

One judge had Marquez winning I believe after 7, the others had it tight
but JMM literally took off 4 of the last 5 rounds only looking for one big shot then resting and backing up.
Pacquiao tired JMM out by making him miss nearly all his big uppercuts, left hooks and long right hands. Missing big shots takes a lot out of a fighter but then again being rational w/ this fight seems to be impossible based on ridiculous expectations for Pacquiao.

JMM's performance was actually putrid the last 5 rounds.
Manny's has beautiful movement, footwork and reflexes and can counters very efficiently.
He had more energy down the stretch by throwing short accurate punches.

JMM failed to take it home down the stretch and failed to find a way to negate Pacs right hook.
IMO JMM's performance was very overrated. Boxing is 12 rounds not 7.
