I believe there was a class issue between Barrera and Morales. Barrera was well educated and perhaps by Mexican standerds middle class, whereas Morales was from a working class background, it always thought that was part of the reason why they disliked each other so much.
Based on most of these responses, the victims of racism have for the most part been white fighters. For some reason that seems to fly in the face of American history. By the way, Pavlick saying Whites now dominate boxing is no more racist than one saying Blacks dominate basketball. He may be wrong, but not racist.
