Not excusing any of it - but as Stuey said it was handbags at the O2 too...Monty got a heroe's welcome - Khan was not racially abused as far as i remember , but his fans were escorted by police through the bar area when all the Mitchell fans were drinking and the fact that most of his fans wore traditional Pakistani clothes seemed to give the green light to some drunk idiots to shout 'shoe bomber' as they looked like the shoe bomber bloke...Some Khan fans reacted with the V for victory sign and some sxcrewed up faces that was meant with some plastic glasses being thrown and very half hearted charge from the Mitchell brigade...All very sad and stupid and all handbags.

IMO - if there was no police escort and the Khan fans left without having to move en-masse - it would seem less confrontational to the small minded.

I blame alot of it on the likes of Warren - aligning his fighters to local football clubs like West Ham - it becomes an extension of the football rivalry - without the restrictions you get at the football...Very convenient for someone who wants to get that 'riot' buzz going on.

Football and boxing are so different for me - i hate to see it going down the football route.
    :?

To be fair the word paki was not meant as a racist term to start with, it was the name of the pakistan crickets team, they where called the paki's however morons just call any asian a paki and think it's ok, when obviously it's not. It has been turned into an offensive word and isn't acceptable.
