Havent seen the fight but by all accounts, that sounds about right.

Yeah,Browne obviously isn't going to say "yeah, he beat me", but jeez, at least say it was a tough close fight, and that Kalazdjic is a quality opponent etc

That video was cringe worthy. Neither guy is really a world beater. I feel for Kalajdzic, but hey, it wasn't that bad of a robbery. It was bad, but Soliman/Wade was even worse.

Hopefully, the put in Browne against Beterbiev or Stevenson to make up for it. Even this older Stevenson KO's Browne.

A better education? Because clearly they're a bit thick.

Then again, Ive heard British posters try to explain to me how Khan isn't English, so its not country specific.

Perhaps they thought Hot Rod was a foreigner because his ring attire was the colours of a foreign country, which I guarantee you they wouldn't be able to locate on a map if you gave them 100 attempts.

Yeah but the people who say that about Khan don't consider anyone non white British.

So what's the cut-off point with you? Hot Rod isn't Serbian but Lennox Lewis is British? I don't want to get into it because we've been through it before, I'm just curious as to why you consider Lewis British and Hot Rod American?

Hot Rod's family emigrated from Serbia to the US when he was ''about 8'' and Lewis and his mother left Britain for Canada when he was 9, and then a year or so later he moved back to Britain for 2 years and then left and went back over to Canada when he was 12.

Guys can identify with whatever nation they want to.

Whats stopping Hot Rod being Serbian-American?

De La Hoya used to come to the ring with a Mexican flag, but no oen considered him less American.

Randy Caballero waves a Nicaraguan flag at his fights, even though he was born in California.

Its up to the guy to guy to decide what he is. Hot Rod is an Ethnic Serb, born in Bosnia, and an American citizen who has lived in the states since he was 7 or 8. He can call himself whatever he likes.

Why cant he be Serbian and American?

    Chisora was born in Zimbabwe
Kid Galahad was born in Qatar
    Martisoyan was born in Armenia
Yuri Foreman was born in Belarus
Wladmiri Klitschko was born in Kazakhstan
Marco Huck was born in Bosnia

Howard Eastman was born in Guyana, Herbie Hude was born in Nigeria

Mike Perez wears the Irish tricolour on his shorts. Its all fluid

Boxing is a sport that is biggest with poorer people, and you'll see plenty of immigrants in those communities.

In the end of the day, the individual can identify with whatever nation he wants.
If hes beyond all that nationalism talk he wont identify with any.

Its like when John Barnes was asked "do you identify as an English man or as a Jamaican?" and he said "neither, I identify as John Barnes"

Id consider Lewis Canadian-British....who lives in America, and has Jamaican parents...hows that? :D

I don't mean how they self-identify. People can identify with what nation they want. I mean Hot Rod is from Serbia, said he's been living in the US since he was about 8 years old, wears the Serbian colours in the ring (superb CCA by the way, matching shorts, boots, and gloves. Perfect. :D) and he said he considers himself Serbian in one of the interviews I saw of his. I'm sure he probably feels some kind of loyalty and kinship with the US too (sometimes in these situations fighters will wear the colours or flag of both countries). It's just when I said he was Eastern European you argued he was American but in another thread when someone claimed Lewis wasn't British you argued he was. I mean me personally I don't see the difference and I would consider Hot Rod Serbian and Lewis British. But if you want to argue Lewis isn't Canadian because he spent 3 years longer in England as a child than Hot Rod did in Serbia then that's OK because it's a subject that can get quite complicated and I don't want to go down that route. :D

Well hes actually not from Serbia. Hes from Bosnia, and is ethnically Serbian.

Ive always claimed that Lewis is whatever he wants to be, the guy can claim 4 countries. If I was claiming hard that hes from one country, then I must have been just annoyed with whoever I was arguing with!
Fact is that Lewis is Canadian....Hes British...His family is Jamiacan and at this point he has probably lived in America more than any other country he has lived in!

From the outside, Hot Rod clearly seems like an American who was born in another country, like Vanes Martisoyan for example.

I don't think anyone minds when Vanes is called an American.

Donaire was born in the Phillipines, but is generally considered American.

But like I said, these guys can claim whatever they wish. I'm sure if you asked someone like Hot Rod, he'd say hes Serbian AND American.

I think you're both wrong, I've always considered Lennox a Jamaican....because he is.

Lennox is Jamaican this hotrod guy is serbian who would likely claim to american if he went back to bosnia haha. If he has no interest in being an American why bother making him out to be one. I get the politics and the endless debate but if he chooses to identify as a serb, well so be it.

I find the whole claiming "others" so to speak a tad bit lame, especially if they have just recently immigrated to another country. Is Kostya Tszyu an Aussie ? how many EE fghters live in Florida ?
