Okay, that's good he can still get a title if he wins, since it's not his fault his opponent did not make weight.

I don't think that will matter, other than reinforce my belief Nonito can carry his power up to at least 122 in his career. He just looks so damn explosive when I see him fight. Love watching his fights. I think he'll just be stronger and it won't matter if Conception comes in heavier.

I remember this and was utterly in disbelief. I thought that fight was Guzman's big ticket for the mega fights he always craved if he got past Campbell and he fails to make weight while going up...

    Utterly mind boggling.

I highlighted the only part I don't agree with.

Donaire seems to be becoming a bit of a dick. Perhaps it's exactly because of how **** his career is going and he is just frustrated, but he is still becoming a dick.

His wife seems to have the same problem. She needs to understand that she is nothing but a trophy, and trophies are there to be seen but not heard.

I hope that Donaire gets the fights and the recognition that he deserves. But I also hope that once this happens for him that he pulls his head in (and his banshee wife) and becomes a fighter we can all like as well as respect.

(BTW Nonito will make this guy look like the bum that he is.)

If the fight is at a certain weight clas, say 115-118 and it is for a title, the one who comes in at overweight can not gain the title even if he wins simply because he is not fighting in that division. However, any fighter could be under the upper limit of the weight division and still win it. Infact, even if he comes a division lighter than the stipulated weight dvision, he could still win it. This is what applies to most sanctioning bodies and the WBO included.

Take the case of Cotto-Pac. The fight falls in the welterweight division although 2 pounds lower than the limit and one of the fighter is the belt holder, then regardless wether the champion wants to put his belt on line, the fight is for the championship belt. The only way the fight is not for the championship is when the fight does not fall in the welterweight division, say 140 where not any is the champion (but in this case, it is for Pac's title) or if the belt was vacated.

I don't think he's becoming a dick. That entire thing with his dad I think is just a case of them not really seeing eye-to-eye (his wife might have to do with some of it but not all of it), and Nonito's not really speaking to the rest of the family because they took his dad's side. I don't think it's much different than the Floyd Mayweathers situation, and Nonito's not badmouthing his dad at all or anything.

Unacceptable. This punk is gonna come in as a jr lightweight tomorrow. 4.5 lbs is a lot in the lower weight divisions. I always try my best to respect a fighter but hope this ***** gets pounded on.

    :-(

Going 4.5 lbs over the weight limit is unprofessional but hey **** happens.

Good to see Donaire deciding to go on with the fight instead of canceling it, should be a good fight regardless.

Concepcion basically weighed in as a jr. feather since he's over both the superfly and bantam limits.

Title only on the line for Donaire, but you never know how these things go.

Title was only on the line for Corrales and Castillo made him pay a physical toll while setting him on the path to retirement simultaneously.

Well...I have seen Donaire drop some big dude in sparring with a left hook a few years back. That's pacquiao like.from what I seen with the training clips.Nonito's hand speed has gotten faster.I think that's this will be noticeable in the fight. However Concepcion is a tough kid and will do anything neccesary even turn it into an ugly hugging affair to win...
