Taylor and Floyd were faster than Chavez and could connect more punches or accumulate more points but the fight would finish before the 12 rounds in favor of Chavez. Chavez scored more than 70 KOs in his whole carreer. Mayweather would have not being an exception.

So, a better version of Castillo wins less rounds is what I read.

All I am saying is that winning by knocking guys like David Diaz is more impressive than running and occassionally petty potshotting and your way to victory against Baldomir.

But, beating Clottey to a decision is more impressive than beating Baldomir but beating Gatti in 6 rounds in nothing compared to beating Diaz in 9

Chavez was never much of a welterweight. Mayweather would handily beat Chavez there.

However, the Chavez of lower weights, particularly at 135 (the Rosario fight especially), that's a whole different story. Chavez was heavy-handed, cut off the ring extremely well, slipped and rolled with shots well, underrated boxing skills, iron chin....He was a hell of a fighter, I'd make him the favorite at lightweight.

I think Mayweather fares better at WW against Trinidad than he does against Chavez at LW.

Despite the natural size disadvantage, I think Mayweather uses his speed, boxing skills, ring IQ, and much better footwork to win a decision over Trinidad. Mayweather would have to be very careful due to Trinidad's power, he wasn't just a left hook guy, but had a very good straight right hand too. But Mayweather was much better with angles, taking away an opponent's best weapon, and Tito was also vulnerable to a straight right hand. Oscar, known as a left-hand happy fighter, was hitting him with frequency with the straight right. The straight right is Floyd's best punch, and I think he'd get this punch through.

Chavez wasn't as big or powerful as Trinidad, but was much better at cutting off the ring than Trinidad. He was also a better in-fighter (Tito was more mid-range) and better at slipping shots. Simply put, Chavez was a better fighter than Trinidad.

That's hilarious... Gatti?! As much as I like the guy as he truly represents a warrior with a great heart, he was never a top level contender... Floyd said himself he was a C+ level fighter... Before he lost to Floyd, he lost to:
-King Solomon (early in career, doesn't really matter)
    -Angel Manfredy
    -Ivan Robinson
    -Oscar De La Hoya
    -Micky Ward

After he lost to Floyd, then according to Fraud and *****s, he was a legend and a ATG... Come on, he got destroyed by Hoya, Manfredy who was was also not an exceptional fighter...

Seriously, before the fight nobody gave Gatti much of a chance, the only thing was his punching power, but the guy was so easy to hit and just wasn't skilled to compete vs top level boxers... And he was near the end of his career and fought tons of wars, people were saying that if he lost to Fraud, he should be retiring...

    Gayweather on Gatti:

what fight were you watching? i remember watching the fight and thinking this mexican chased floyds ass all ****ing night, and most every damn jab floyd threw was in reverse to try to get the guy off of him rather than using it to off set, or do damage, or set something up...the whole HBO announce team thought floyd lost..the entire crowd boo'd it and thats when mayweather was likeable...mother ****er lost 8 of 12 rds in fight 1

when you lose to a guy with 9 ****ing losses and look like ****...you arent rewarded with fighting pound for pound the best....in your next fight...:patsch
Margarito was the big name then trying to secure a fight, all of HBO wanted the fight....but that big sissy went and fought a slow ****ing boat named Baldomir and gave him his 10 loss...EXCITING and BOLD of floyd...thats Baldomirs big claim to fame...beating judah, who was in the middle of losing to everyone else at the time

Because there were better fights to be made....fighting a shell of DLH is about as pointless as mayweather and Pac fighting Shane at this point..its a **** attempt at frauding the public. Oscar was 2-2 in his last 4 fights..lost to floyd, beat forbes, and lost again to pac...joint the hit parade and give him a loss too floyd...

youre right about the pac fans...they could give a **** about anything else in boxing...same with mayweather fans...its like little kids arguing whos daddy is stronger
but difference in comparing pac fighting and beating a erik morales coming off a loss to Raheem and mayweather fighting judah off a loss...is pac wasnt pound for pound the best...just staying active...and even fighting erik morales....and Mayweather should have moved on to the next "available best fighter at the time" as he likes to say...who was Margarito :deal
also pac fighting morales either way you look at it, was his 7th weight class to be fighting in...which is almost unheard of and people just shrug their shoulders like everyone just does that all the time

who knows....all i know is chicken floyd didnt fight cotto at ANY weight

again...Floyd wouldnt, didnt, wasnt ever going to fight Margarito at ANY ****ing legit weight...shocker....but Pac beating a guy 17 pounds heavier than him to a bloody pulp makes floyd look like an even bigger douche bag
as for Hatton...lets see..he had 1 fight EVER at 147 and that was against Collazo and had his face boxed off..not many people thought he even came close to winning that fight...drops back down to his fighting weight as he says...wins his next 2 fights at 140...... then jumps back up to 147 and floyd beat him like everyone knew would happen..i mean collazo just did the same thing

he wasnt shot...but didnt deserve to keep his date with floyd.

when ray mercer and Bowe were set to fight...Bowe was fighting Dokes in the main event and Mercer was fighting Jese Fergeson ...Mercer wasnt ****ing embarrassed by Fergeson that night and lost...much like Judah...how ****ed up would that have been if Bowe would have fought him anyway? Back then it was called BLOWING it and Mercer BLEW his shot. Bowe pretty much said beating mercer proves nothing at this point, he just lost in front of everyone and looked like **** doing so...beating him again will do what for me??
