Marquez should retire. That's scary stuff. He's taken a lot of shots.

    :good

Everyone has different levels of durability, but anyone who takes as much punishment as these two have, will have lost a part of themselves in that ring.

I still get haunted by interviews of Meldrick Taylor and thank my lucky stars I did not end up as bad as even some former amateurs.

Oh man, now we know these two little warriors are not going to be the same if they step into the ring again. Very sad news.

It might be better for both if they took another year off before making the final decision of getting in the ring again.

Their first fight you knew they would leave a peice of themselves in the fight, but to rush an additional two more fights in the same year was just insane, especially when you consider the fights that Izzy was having leading up to this fight alot of punishment given and taken by both guys, very sad but not surprising at all.

It's starting to look like we'll never see either of these guys compete at the elite, pound-for-pound level they were at before.
In those three fights, while giving us all more drama and entertainment than we could have hoped for, they also gave us part of their soul and their physical prime.
If they never fight another fight, at least they'll both always be remembered by all true boxing fans.
That's a legacy any fighter can be proud of.

Very sad news. Marquez looked in really bad shape in the 12th of the 3rd fight, it's amazing he made it through.

I say give them each an easy payday against light-punching, technical boxers, then let them retire. The concern is their health and retirement funds.

I saw this coming especially with Marquez that last fight reminded me of the 2nd Morales-Pacquiao fight where you could see 1 man lose his legs for good over the course of a few rounds. That 12th round last March finished Marquez as a top fighter and im sure Vasquez isnt far behind just go look at the recent Corrales-Castillo wars and how neither one did anything of note after the first bout Corrales was 0-3 and Castillo struggled. A 4th fight is way to much for these guys someone could be killed and id rather not see that.
