Not sure how many people will respond to this, but I'm going to continue to bump this until I get a few responses.

Probably not qualified to say as Ive only seen his fight with some Japanese guy, Im guessing from boxrec it would be Murata II as thats about how the fight panned out in my memory.

Except for Marquez's power and the fact he cut so much weight he usually was heaps bigger than his foes at bantem, I dont think Raf is all that exceptional.

Jeff was a pretty huge bantem aswell and I think you take that advantage away from Raf and he hasnt got much else over Jeff. Who was quick and had a great work ethic in the fight I saw him in.

I can't even make a pick here, because I havent seen a Chandler fight, but in reviewing his record at boxrec, it's a class A resume.

Probably would favour Marquez judging by the boxrec resume.

To be honest i haven't really seen to much of Chandler, but from what I've seen im thinking Marquez Late TKO. Marquez is a H2H moster at 118.

But don't take my opinion to seriously, i need to view more footage to make a real analysis.

There isn't any footage of Chandler on YouTube that I know of.

I have to admit that I haven't seen much of Chandler at all. Only the rematch against Oscar Muniz (purchased from Boxingvideos.net) and his fight with Gaby Canizales.

From the looks of it, he was an exceptional boxer-puncher who preferred to work at a distance. He had competent defensive skills, excellent overall technical ability, and employed effective movement. Very skilled fighter and quick to boot. Chandler would have enjoyed 2 inches of height on Marquez, which could potentially come into play because Chandler knew how to use his height and reach to his advantage. Marquez has an overwhelming edge in power though. A better overall puncher, too. Chandler could punch, it's just that Marquez was a top P4P puncher at 118. As far as technical skills, I'd say they're even, with Chandler getting the nod in defense.

I don't think Chandler had much of an amateur career. Went something like 1-1 if memory serves me correctly.

A guy like Sweet Pea could give a better analysis than myself.

Sounds like you are better equipped to answer this queston than any of us :yep

I've only seen a bit of Chandler, and agree with your assessment for the most part. I don't see either being able to particularly outbox the other, and for that reason I root for Marquez simply because his power was exceptional at bantam

Not really, you have the bases covered. I personally find it pretty easy to analyze a fighter's style after a couple fights, and you've got it down. Don't know what else to add, just an emphasis on his speed and sharpness making a difference in the outcome. He was very versatile, could outbox you or put you out with his power, though Marquez would have to have the advantage there I'd agree. Even as technical as Marquez can be, he wasn't as skilled a boxer as Chandler I don't think. And as big as he was at Bantamweight, he doesn't hold that advantage here either. I'd favor Chandler.

I'm interested to know where some of you guys rank Marquez all-time at Bantam. I really haven't put much thought into it myself.
