    Who wins this interesting match up?

    I WANT Raf to win it, but my gut says Lopez will ko him...

    I think Rafael has enough left to keep it interesting maybe even Ko JuanMa if he can muster up one last legendary performance.

    But what keeps my hope for Rafael winning in check is JuanMa's ridiculous power. And let's not forget, out of Marquez's 5 losses he only made it to the final bell in 1 of them, and he isn't exactly the opposite of shopworn.

    But the power vs chin argument is up in the air for both, because Mtagwa had Lopez in big trouble in their good scrap last year, and IF Rafael can hit Lopez with the same shots Mtagwa did, Lopez WILL get ko'd.

    As of now, my official pick is - JuanMa Tko10 Marquez...
    But it will probably change :lol:

    the first few rounds will be very tough. if juanma can survive an early attack from rafa i think he can get a ko/tko in the later rounds.

    That and fighters age much faster, boxing wise, at the lower weights on top of it.

    KO for Lopez. Marquez is old and pretty susceptible to a KO, so I'm going with youth and athletic ability. I would love to see Marquez put up a great fight, but I think Juanma has just too much talent and strength to give Marquez a chance at winning. Lets not forget that Marquez is a battle worn, experienced fighter, but with that experience comes the degrading of skills and stamina. Juanma might be more inexperienced, but he has the God-given gifts which will help him through. Plus, I want Juanma to win convincingly so that he fights Gamboa as soon as possible.

    Obviously I like pulling for my experienced warrior in Marquez, but good point on the fact that if Lopez wins this one convincingly, it will make a showdown with Gamboa even more appealing.

    I think Marquez is gonna win this one. To me Lopez has looked slow in his last couple of fights and I think Marquez has got alot more left in the tank than people think!

    I wanna see the odds on this fight.

    I dont know why people keep talking about Rafa being shot.

    He looked incredibly fast against VAsquez. Even Vasquez looked quick too. That laser jab is going to cut up JML face.

    I want to see Lopez stay focused and beat concepcion convincingly first...then I think he can KO Marquez in around 7-8.

    Wow good fight ... if rafa wins this one .. he is a sure shot hall of famer ... I like both guys but rafaels ability to put punches together is gonna be a problem for juan ma ... toss up fight good match up

    Good point.


    To me, That's an important trait of a prizefighter - The ability to make big fights while still maintaining focus, and taking care of business on a lower caliber but still dangerous fight that comes before the bigger fight down the road.

    I know Marquez is his mandatory but is this a done deal for this date as long as Lopez beats Concepcion?
