The threadstarter mentions an often forgotten fact, Macklin struggled with Ajetovic. He was on his backfoot and even seemed to struggle with his power. Not a good look if anyone thinks he's going to compete with Pavlik.

Rafeal is a fat twat. He's on the money with the WBC but he shouldn't single just them out as the rest are just as bad.

Pirog's getting a bit overrated since beating Jacobs - who was similarly over-hyped. No one was making much of a fuss about Pirog when Macklin was originally likely to face him.

Boxing fans have short attention spans.

I like Dan, he is good for rumours, has a decent personality and he doesn't lie about the fact that he is biased but his opinions are a bit wank. He is extremely biased, I find it ironic that he gave Tyson Fury so much hate when if he was American he would be their Heavyweight saviour.

So what, he has the useless Zbik in front of both. I'm pretty sure he almost never watches European fights and just fills in the gaps in his knowledge with his arrogance and prejudice. It's pretty much impossible for anyone to come up with good world rankings for all 17 weight classes anyway. The Ring rankings aren't that much better, though both the Ring and Rafael's rankings easily beat those of the sanctioning bodies.

I think boxing monthly's are by far and away the best rankings around. Always found The Ring to be a very pro american magazine and their rankings are quite shocking, either lazy or biased i dunno.

I've just had a look at boxing monthly's rankings. They look pretty good at first glance, only the Cruiserweight ranking seems a bit wonky (Green n° 1, really?). I don't think the Ring rankings are that bad, they're not perfect but I think they generally get the top 5 about right.

Yeah it's a joke, period. I think he said he only got the Mag 7 DVDs today or yesterday so chances are he hasn't even watched any of the fights yet from the Mag 7 card. He's a joke.

Yeah green ahead of cunningham and even huck is a bit of a joke. The win against a totally shot roy jones jr elevates him to number 1 or was it the third round ko of manny siaca?

The Ring is pathetic, some of their articles are painful to say the least.

Just because they're employed by a magazine of TV station doesn't mean they know more than die-hard fans, that's all they are (with a degree in journalism)

Rafael would get owned on the General.

Neither, it was Briggs, what a K.O that was.

Also, why isn't Keiji Sato on anyones middleweight list? Unlucky against Sturm, he'd smash Pirog and Macklin on the same night :deal

There were some of us that knew what Pirog was capable of. I gave Macklin no chance.
