Rafael said in his chat that he heard from two sources that this was a done deal. CBS might do some kind of 24/7 show leading up to the fight.

This has to be a big SCREW YOU to HBO from Arum over the Cotto fight.

Pretty surprising. Can't imagine what Showtime could offer more than HBO other than network television buildup and perhaps post fight network TV replay.
Maybe he got them to do a few Top Rank cards on the network as well.
It'll be interesting to see what the details are.

Hopefully, emmanuel says **** you to bob and leaves top rank. Important fights can be made easier w/o bob in the way.

  5. this means no floyd pac ever, for sure

    Post a link or STFU.
There is nothing on espn's boxing page nothing on their twitter, nothing on Rafael's notebook page and nothing on espn's main page.

    It's in his chat...

How so? This is likely a one fight deal, and even if it sours the relationship with Arum and HBO...I'm sure differences will be put aside if both camps are willing to fight. Simply too much money in that fight for it not to happen. Just look at Lewis/Tyson, for example.

Heads will drop at HBO if this happens.. No Pacquiao, Floyd might never fight again, no heavyweights.. Have they even secured Martinez to fight on them?

HBO got tired of Pac vs shot, weight drained fighters

  11. I just hope it doesnt mean we will see pac on showtime from now on.
It sucks, bob arum thinks he owns boxing by playing hardball vs hbo because of the situation.
If pacquiao had any sense he would leave toprank and fire koncz.
Bob arum is using him as a awn to get his other fights made. Its about time it backfires and that greedy ******* gets forced out fo the business.

I'm probably easily amused because I chuckled at this comment from the chat:

  13. You dont think floyd will use it as a excuse just like the tszyu fight that never happened.

Showtime is owned by CBS. Think about it.

HBO offers a build up? It goes on HBO.

Showtime offers a build-up? It goes on Showtime, but Bob thinks bigger than that. He'll have **** on CBS, potential morning news program pitches, all sorts of possibilities. This is a good deal for Bob AND Showtime.

this could make things more intresting big fight wise,a lot more open and competitive, both sides will have to step up thier game with what fights they show.

    and i like showtimes commentary.

i think pac v mosley will be a good fight, mosley will have some success, but pac is tough as nails, and will come on strong and dominate mid to late rounds.

also word is that if klitschko v haye/adamek happens ,klitschkos will not allow HBO to air the fight, they will go to showtime instead, over the hbo rejecting their povetkin fight that was going to be but didnt happen.

even if hbo offer more, klitschkos wont go to HBO anymore.

wonder if arum is now the same?.
