Just said it on the chat. Apparently, Ward's camp wants the GGG fight this fall. He's wants to go up to Kovalev, but they don't want to come back down later for GGG. So, they want the GGG fight to happen now in the next few months. The only issue right now besides the split is weight. We know Ward won't do 160. We know GGG won't do 168. So, what is a fair weight, in your opinion? Golovkin says 164 so each can go up/down four pounds. What do you think? If it is at 164, who do you think will win? Pretty big deal if this gets serious.
168. Ward should not concede weight, he doesn't have to nor should he. If GGG wants to fight for the SMW title, it has to be at 68.
The weight issue I can see, but what's wrong with the split? :blood Golovkin already said 50/50 right, wich is more as Ward can expect at the moment.
Why is it the Triple Duck can fight Froch and Baby Chavez @ 168 but needs a 164 catchweight for Ward? WTF?!?
Ward would never accept a 164 pound catch weight. You wouldn't think weight would be a problem seeing as how Golovkin says no one wants to fight him at 160 and seeing as how he said he's ready for anyone from 154-168. He's also tried to make two fights at 168. It would be an intriguing fight, we'll see if either side budges.
As far as we know, Golovkin's side is asking 50/50 in split and in weight. Also, for folks above, stop saying 168. It isn't going to happen at 168 if it does come to fruition, so what's the next choice. Also, according to what Rafael said, Ward won't be coming back down once he goes up. If GGG/Ward camps can't come to an agreement, then Ward will move up for good.
This fight will not be made until GGG moves up to 168, so maybe in two-three years. And LOL Ward will never fight Kovalev....
Froch and Chavez are much bigger paydays, plus weaker foes. And in Chavez' case a high paying punchbag. Ward is a much bigger risk for much less money. negotiation is key here. Cotto/Pac/Floyd/Canelo/Chav Jr come up with that sh*t all the time, and want a lot of diva privileges to boot.
They were big PPV fights WHERE? The big ppv money is in the US market. I've never seen Chavez Jr. , Froch or Golovkin be involved in a big PPV fight in the U.S
