Rafael: "We All Believe Margarito Cheated In The Cotto Fight"

In my mind, the only question is, how many of his fights was he loaded up?

We all believe Dan Rafael is an idiot.

 

I remember on the marg vs clottey, that marg had his knucles skin peeled off while clotty hurt his knucles. I wonder if that is proof that marg was useing it then.

 

:blabla The only question mark is Marg's career. If he's a proven cheater, his results against Cotto and against everyone else he's faced, will be considered with an asterisk.

 

So. Does Dan Rafael think Mosley used EPO in other fights? Roy Jones used illegal substances in other fights? James Toney cheated in his prime fights?

Rafael is a big fat *******. He clearly lets his emotions take over, lacks journalistic objectivity. In a position, as a respected boxing writer, you just can't write down what you THINK without ANY kind of evidence, because you break the codex and journalist should never do that. In his position in the media, he has the power to manipulate the public, and that's what he is doing. Margarito was caught having an illegal, hardened gauze where it shouln't have been. He was banned because of the gauze itself, we're yet to see the result actually what was the substance. But there's no eveidence he had loaded gloves in the Cotto fight, stating such things from a writer is very very wrong.

Then again: he never wrote "I believe Roy Jones, Shane Mosley, or James Toney used illegal substances in other important fights", because they are emotionally positive for him. THAT makes Dan Rafael pathetic. I wouldn't care less if he wasn't writing this as a respected boxing journalist, just posting on a forum. But he's doing it from that position.

 

I honestly would like to let my emotions fly and bash Margarito, but I can't. I'm not that much of a hater to waste time bashing him. He tried to cheat in the Mosley fight, shame on him (and I have no problem believing this, because there is evidence). As for the Cotto fight, I can't doubt the fact that Margarito might have cheated, but there's no true hardcore evidence (like the kind that was produced from the Mosley fight). So far most posters are basing this on what they think they know about loaded gloves.

 

You guys have to remember that Cotto is one of boxing's "darlings" right now so people in the sport of boxing are going to do anythiing to get his image and marketability back up to where it was before he took that knee against Margo.

If he did tried to cheat against Mosley, then I don't have any doubts that he did against Cotto.

 

i agree....but i'm not gonna prance around saying "MARGARITO CHEATED COTTO" cuzz i dont no for a fact, but common sense tells you he more then likely did....but at the same time, if Cotto's gonna give Margarito the benifit the doubt and not blame the loss on Margarito, i'll respect that and do the same

Journalist should not make accusations without any real proof and call them gut feelings.....its just journalistically unproffesional.

For Dan Rafael to have made those types of accusations against Margarito, he would have had to at the very least substantiate it by interviewing people from the NSAC, and the Cotto representative that was there to see Margarito wrap for the Cotto fight.....

......what the hell did that Cotto representative now in hindsight see, that would leave him to believe that Margarito may have loaded up vs Cotto.....

.....proffesional and respected journalist back up their belief by substantiating it with peoples accounts who were there to witness the wrapping of Margarito vs Cotto.....

.....to just come out and say, its just a gut feeling is beyond whack!:!:

 

It happens all the time in boxing.....some peoples face swell up more than others.....

People for example have said that its not a coincidence that Margarito lost when he was'nt allowed to fight with loaded gloves.....
......but to those people I say, Margarito barely touched Mosely....Margarito could'nt sustain an attack and was'nt landing punches effectively or ineffectively.

Against Cotto, Margarito was landing shots even when he was losing rounds.....
.....at the end, it was'nt any one punch that beat Cotto, but an overwhelming rate of activity that caught up to Cotto.

.....and to be quite honest, even though Cotto was busted up, he was'nt teeter tootering around the ring from a particular shot that Margarito had landed,
Cotto was stopped out of exhaustion more than anything else.

 

margo would beat cotto 99.9% of the time.
