If you are interested in welterweight division, you should watch him. This guy is ranked by The Ring at #9 and by IBF at#1. It means that his next fight will be with Jan Zaveck for IBF title. I watched his last fight with Delvin Rodriguez and he impressed me a lot. Despite being 10cm shorter than Rodriguez he was able to control the fight with his left jab for first 5 rounds. Then in the 6th he was hit by very hard punch clean in the jaw. He survived the remaining 2 minutes of the round but he didnt recover until the end of the fight. However he won 2 or 3 rounds more and managed to win the fight. I know that he is not as skilled as other top welterweights, but he is a tough moter****er and has one of the biggest hearts in boxing. What is interesting, few years ago Jackiewicz almost died, because he had a knife in his heart, when was attacked after leaving the disco.

Then watch the fight and judge by yourself. It was very close fight (as the scores says 116-112 115-112 114-112), but there was no home-judging :nono

    Enjoy

That's not the fight I watched. If anyone was controlling with the jab, it was Rodriguez. Jackiewicz was effectively countering and landing good shots, but threw about half as much as Rodriguez. It wasn't a robbery per se, but it was tough luck for Rodriguez. If the fight is in the US rather than Poland, there's a good chance Rodriguez would have won. Depends on whether you want to score for the more aggressive and active fighter or for the one who landed the more solid shots (but far fewer punches overall). It was a little reminiscent of Williams-Quintana I actually.

Same goes for the first fight Jackiewicz had with Zaveck. But he very well may end up winning the title again, especially since he's the bigger draw and the rematch will likely be in Poland again.

He's not the most talented fighter in the world, but he can be alright to watch and I do appreciate his tenacity.

You know boxing is about landing punches ? not throwing. Rodriguez beside 6th round landed none. Jackiewicz was landing clean, hard shots in every round.

It seems that rematch will be in Slovenia. Its not bad, because Jackiewicz may have chance to prove that he is better fighter. I didnt watch the first fight with Zaveck, but i read that many people think it was a gift decision for him.

Rodriguez landed tons of shots in every round. They just didn't tend to be that hard or clean. Jackiewicz landed like 5 punches a round, but they were all hard and clean.

Like I said, it's a matter of preference.

Zaveck I was thinking would have been a good opponent for Mayweather to pick up a strap against, did not know he was scheduled to fight someone else.

i have to agree with jab-hard on this, rodriguez landed the least % of thrown punches i have ever seen, probably something around 5-10% , he was throwin in the air or hiting the gloves, the only round he was effective in was the sixth , and he most likley landed more in that single round than in the rest of the fight.

To put it in a nutshell: a very bold prediction to bet against Zaveck, a defending titlist who wisely will have hometown advantage this time around after he got robbed on Polish soil in the first fight (which you have not even seen yet), don't you think?

Maybe if this fight is close then there will be a gift decision to Zaveck (as it possibly was in the first fight to Jackiewicz). I believe that if Jackiewicz wins convincingly he will get the title. After this what he showed in the fight with Rodriguez I know that he will give a great performance.
