Well, you really cannot tell a lot from this picture, but he does look lean from what you can see. The scale will tell the story. This content is protected
The 'Rahman is a fatso' stuff is always blown way out of proportion. It's just that normally after a loss, he gets all depressed and balloons right up...as happened after the Holyfield loss, the bogus draw with Tua and Ruiz loss, then the loss to Maskaev in 2006. Normally he's around that late-230s, early-to-mid-240s mark pretty regularly. I reckon he'll be around 240 this time round. Not that it's going to help being in shape all that much against Wlad anyway...
:nod What does Rahman possibly bring to the table, except for a slightly above average heavyweight punch that he's not going to be able to get past that rangefinder jab to reach Wlad with, that could propel him to victory? Not a damn thing.
Well damn, gotta give yourself the best possible chance. And at least have enough respect for your opponent and sport to come in as good as possible for a world title fight, rather than embarrassing yourself and everyone as a blubbery lazy *******.
Well, can't hurt Rachman's chances if he comes to the ring in shape, although I don't think it will help much either.
In my eyes he'll never live down his post-Ruiz fight against Al Cole - he almost lost that fight AND looked like a fatso!
This man got wobbled by James Toney in his last fight. He is there to be hit, should be an easy KO for Wlad.
Rahman has looked fit before. He either didn't win, or didn't outperform the flabby version of himself... I think what happens in a lot of cases, are that guys focus so much on getting in shape and losing weight and toning up, that they neglect sparring and tightening up fundimentals. They come in ripped, or at a lower weight- but they aren't ready to fight. They are ready to jog, or ready to pose and flex thier muscles, but they haven't focused on the ring... Next thing you know- you've got an Oscar/Manny on your hands. IMO, TBE
