Good post. Rahman has always been overly focused on landing that R hand. He has put his **** out there too often and has paid the price for sure. It aint china, never was, but it aint iron either, and that mean there has to be SOME focus on defending against the counter. :think

 

Yes I noticed that too. Heard Rahmen was very strong in his day and did a lot of weight lifting, weightlifters often knacker their joints by over stressing them. Rahmen looked very straight legged couldn't roll or slip Povetkins punches so was taking the full force of them. Even at the end Rahmen appeared to be holding onto the rope for support.

 

Well, there are rumors that Rahman has problems with his legs/knees. If you had seen his entrance, you may noticed him stumbling and doddering on the stairs. It was a sad prelude. In the end he could barely stand on his feet (he could't walk for some time either). I don't think Povetkin impressed him that much. Beside that Rahman had been in hospital the day before the fight.

But John Ruiz can outbox him and Maskaev can knock him into the crowd like a cartoon level knock out.

 

It is a shame that you guys choose to laugh at someone who go KTFO'd by the perfect combination by Lewis. If that landed on you guys how do you think your body would have reacted?

 

He should get more respect he was neevr a great fighter but it was obvious that he is horribly shot his knees are ****ed his so is his chin and he is terribly slow and just shot on RJJ level

Man his knees did look awful. What was up with that?! While his opponents of late had been cans, I still cant believe his knees didnt buckle like that in those fights if they are that bad.

He fought through Corrie Sander's power, getting off the deck to stop him.

 

He was very strong and tended to plant his feet = awesome punching power. Problem was he didn't often land so flush but when he did he had the power to take out some of the best ( Lewis & Sanders ).
As ofters have said, this was however a double edged sword which left him fairly static and open to taking the full force of others punches.

During his ring entrance last night Rahmen walked down the stairs like Pinocchio. Either his knees and/or his back look shot. That's the price a lot of top athletes pay to keep us punters happy. It's sad to see boxers fighting on well past their prime and where they could get really injured (Jones, Hopkins, etc) but seems a bit hard dis'ing them on the internet afterwards though. .... and let's face it, a lot of these so called china chined, past it boxers would still give 99.9673821785489 % of the internet-armchair-warriors a whopping even in their current state.
