Forget Rahman. BigCat says he saw him sparring, and he's shot. Would anyone have a problem with Tua fighting a Barrett look-a-like in October, and then Peter or Arreola as an eliminator for the right to fight W. Klit?

Yes, is Barrett the last of the cheap Maori TV fights? If so, after that Tua should never fight anyone ranked outside the Ring top 20, regardless of his gayass alphabet ranking

If Tua beats pretty much any half decent HW he should get a shot based on his name and rep, as he would do better PPV numbers than many previous less popular and less credentialed challengers

If Tua knocks over Monte, then gets a handpicked Kali Meehan type to guarantee a title shot, you can guarantee he will get pummelled by Klit.

He needs tough fights to get him mean and less buddha-like, back how he was when he was in wars and knocking out guys in the 12 round

Friday was the first, Barrett the second, and a third Barrett look-a-like will finish off the MTV contract. Then Tua will be free to take on a Peter or Arreola in an eliminator.

Ok, what do you reckon? I think Tua should get at least 2 tough fights under his belt before any title shot. Its by no means clear if he could beat the likes of Sam Peter at this stage.
IMO he needs to re-aquaint himself with that level of power and skill , fighting a shot Monte and co is huge difference from the top guys, if he just goes for title too early that tells me hes after the money.

Rahman is not even top 15 in any of the alphabets. No wonder he wants to fight Tua for his #2 position with the WBO.

Pushnuts, Tua will re-aquaint himself with his power against Barrett, and someone similar to Barrett in his next fight. That'll end the MTV contract. He'll be more than ready for Peter at that stage. Can he beat Peter? I think so, but that's why they fight. So he'll have had three fights before going for the title. I think the timing is perfect, and MTV has allowed him to pace himself.

I think Tua will fight Rahman in New Zealand after the 3rd MTV fight

Its been on the cards the whole time

And yes - a belt fight could follow

Yes, after Tua lays out Barrett, and possibly Arreola, the Rock would also be a good name for Tua.

For some reason, people love to see Rahman get KOed, and Tua would do it in dramatic fashion. :good

 Tua would knock Hasim out, *Lenny Lewis Style*.

Not so sure about that, Rahman schooled him twice and Tua had to cheat in order to even hurt Rahman. Plus, Rahman absolutely schooled him when both were pigs.

No disrespect to you guys or even Tua and Rahman, but the bottom line is they both are shot and have NO CHANCE of doing anything of significance in this division, IMO. Could they get lucky and land "the punch"...yeah I guess, but by that logic who isn't still "in the mix". Bottom line these cats are finished and need to move on be thankful they came out with a little bit of cash and their health.

Why is Tua shot? Which fight indicated that? If he is competitive with a Peter or Arreola, is he shot?

    Agreed.

Keep stepping it up and try for someone top 20 after Rahman.

Maybe someone tall and straight up and down, like Helenius?

After that Arreola, then Adamek, then a title shot, then retire again.

Tua should perhaps be in the WBA rankings so he is closer to Haye, not Klits. He has a great style to beat Haye, Klit bros not so much, a very difficult task.
I guess Haye would probably not want to fight him though if he could avoid it.

I had to google Helenius but I cant see after 12 fights that his people would risk him with someone like Tua yet, I think someone just as tall but with a bit more power and experience like Dimitrenko would be a great trial run for the Klit bros. Dimitrenko isnt nearly as good but he has a similar frame and reach and has a bit of power and skill, tough fight for Tua but no way should he go in "cold" against a Klit brother after so long out of the game.

On current form, even though hes looking ok (and far from shot), he didnt show against Ahunanya that he really wanted to get him out of there, even though Friday was on his bike a little it was not the Tua of late 1990s that was a relentless bad intentioned heavyweight. If he doesnt have that instinct back and get tested in a tough fight he is gonna get embarassed in a title shot.

Gee, I just youtubed Helenius, I agree totally with you, this guy is good for 12 pro fights, good amateur career and he has striking similarities in style to either Klitschko, albeit slower and less powerful than Wlad.

He looks like he is already stepping up the competition as he knocked out Lamon Brewster in his last fight, Brewster has a not dissimilar style to Tua.
Tough fight for TUa, I think he should avoid this guy until he has a name

I'd like to see Tua or Rahman in with Boytsov. He's 7 in the ring rankings...give him a seasoned vet with power.

    Boytsov will beat both.
