Well, this newly created belt does add a bit of competition and hunger to the divisoin again. It gives fighters hope that they can possibly become a champ, even if a kiddie title is all they get for their efforts.

I agree with Lamont Sanford..... Rahman in another title fight here in 2011 is a funny joke to the maxi-pad.....

Rahman doesnt know how to fight Russians. He cant adapt to the style. We seen that against Maskaev X2, and Vitali Klitschko.

If Povetkin was American I could think that he could stand a chance. But he is not so no.

Yeah whatever. We could see Rahman was completely lost against that sorta Eastern style.

I was so disappointed with Rahman's lousy 250+ pounds of baggage when he challenged Wlad Klit in Germany back in '08...... That was the icing on the cake for me....... Please, no more "Ruiz or Rahman" in title fights ever again..... Yes, Yes, Evan Fields is there too, however, let him get a final shot at glory against the limited Al Pov...... If he loses to Pov in Dec., well, he's finally done as an elite fighter....... Many folks already feel that Evan Fields is already well done like a Porterhouse steak on the grill......

Wlad does not fight the "Eastern style" like Povetkin.

Povetkin has no defence and Rahman has a punchers chance if he comes in good shape.

You gonna tell me that with a straight face and expect me to believe that?

Maskaev knocked Rahman out in one of the worst ko's in boxing history. But I am suppose to think that Rahman could ko Povetkin who is another Russian but probably better.

What the hell is wrong with the WBA at heavyweight? :patsch

The WBA 'regular' title for the last 10 years...
Ruiz vs Holyfield > Ruiz UD
    Ruiz vs Holyfield > Draw
Ruiz vs Johnson > Ruiz DQ10
Ruiz vs Jones > Jones UD
Ruiz vs Rahman > Ruiz UD*
Ruiz vs Oquendo > Ruiz TKO11
Ruiz vs Golota > Ruiz UD
    Ruiz vs Toney > NC
Ruiz vs Valuev > Valuev MD
Valuev vs Beck > Valuev TKO3
Valuev vs Barrett > Valuev TKO11
    Valuev vs McCline > TKO3
Valuev vs Chagaev > Chagaev MD
Chagaev vs Skelton > Chagaev UD
Chagaev vs Drummond > Chagaev TD6
Valuev vs Haye > Haye MD*
Haye vs Ruiz > Haye TKO9
Haye vs Harrison > Haye TKO3
Chagaev vs Povetkin > Povetkin UD*
    Povetkin vs Holyfield > ???

None of this fights featured the #1 HW at that moment in time... NONE!

next... Povetkin vs Rahman ?
