Yup, and he knows Toney would beat his ass, embarrass him, and send him back to cruiser...not exactly the way he's planning his HW journey.

Is this based on Fat Toney's 2 NC's at heavyweight, his 2 losses to Sam Peter, his draw with shitty Rahman or what?

It's based on his style and head to head ability...Peter is the only HW who has defeated James Toney...what happens in the ring doesn't mean much to those who would discount Toney though.

The only guy who Haye might beat that Toney has faced at HW is Danny Batchelder, so I don't know what you are getting at...maybe Hasim, but Toney owns him...so it proves nothing.

boxing fans are always trying to find which fighter is ducking the other. 99% of the time, noone is ducking and noone is being ducked.

wait - Did Maskaev say that he wants to fight Haye but also said he was not in proper shape to do so,

or, did he just say he wants to fight Haye and you (Shpion) concluded he's not in shape to do it?

i.e. Did Maskaev himself admit weakness / being out of shape?

Haye's been called out in turn now, let's hope this one gets made.

Rahman still has a top ten ranking with more than one of the boxing orgs, and has directly challenged Haye. If Haye is serious about fighting anyone, this is as good a place to start as any.

This is exactly what Haye and his fans want. I feel really bad for Toney. He was going to KO Rahman and make a statement to everyone, until Rahman complained about his eyes. Toney should be the one to fight Haye. If Haye was very smart, he would fight Toney and try to look good against Toney. Looking good against Toney makes the Wlad fight happen immediately. But, Haye is choosing the loser instead. That's bad. Haye needs to realize you have to earn a title shot against the champ. I would love to fight Wlad too and get payed millions as well, I could give an Austin performance. Wlad should counter and give Toney a shot instead of Haye. Let the true champs fight each other.

Maybe so, but not as shot as Rahman. Did you watch their rematch? If Rahman can't take Toney's punches at HW anymore, then he certainley couldn't take Hayes. Plus Toney is alot more skilled, has been and always will be.

WTF does beating Toney prove when you are moving up to fight Wlad in your next fight? Haye needs to fight a big, heavy handed guy who will at least go some way to asking the same questions Wlad would do.

It proves your good...because the only HW to defeat James Toney is WBC Champion Sam Peter.

If Haye hasn't been out there making real offers, in a way, that is ducking. Because he is acting like he is frustrated with fighters backing out, but he won't say who it is, if he is lying than that would be ducking everyone!!

If it wasn't Rahman, than who was it he was in negotiations with that backed out at the last minute? He said it was going to be either Rahman or Toney.

So that would mean Toney backed out of negotiations then. There has to be more to this story. Lets see what Toney has to say.

Maybe Maskaev...but there's no way Toney backed out from Haye, Toney would love to fight Haye.
