Despite a grueling and tough battle with Zuri Lawrence Thursday night at the Sovereign Center, a victorious Hasim Rahman spent Friday afternoon giving back to the Reading, PA community. Rahman visited the Children's Home, a facility for troubled and abused boys, to share his life experiences and offer them hope and encouragement. He was joined by undefeated super middleweight Tarvis Simms. In addition to talking and answering questions, both fighters signed autographs and posed for photos with the teens.

Classy of both guys. Rahman in particular, who could be forgiven if he'd passed it up in favour of more ice packs to the head.

These are the kind of things I like to hear about more from boxers than the trash-talking bravado stuff.

Rahman is like Mike.. TYson always saw himself in the eyes of those small kids and made it his business to hand out autographs and candy at schools after daily workouts in Vegas.. They are honest deep down good men.. They just can't help it. There isn't a bad bone in his body..

Hasim is decent, for all his faults inside the ring..

He would make a wonderful councillor....... or mentor..

Rahman has always seemed like a really honest guy, never held himself without some class.

Much respect to Rahman for this. He took a lot of punishment in that fight with Zuri Lawrence, and could have passed on this, to rest up.
    Good for you, Rock! :good

Hasim Rahman is the kind of guy who will be fine after boxing. Certainly not health wise, because not many come out too good, but he seems as though he'll be productive and do something meaningful.
