If this fight happens, its a good one. I hope to get to see it, cause I've not see Hay fight, but a few short clips.
Good fight for David Haye to make an entrance into the heavyweight division. Haye has defensive and some chin/stamina question marks, but from what I have seen lately, Rahman is no longer a world class heavyweight. His jab doesn't have any snap or speed, his footwork is worse than ever, and he looks to be very sloppy and easy to hit. Haye has the advantage in speed, maybe even power right now, so I expect him to win by KO in the middle rounds.
But Haye hits very hard, so I don't see it. A glass jaw is Audley...getting starched by a none puncher. Getting KO'd by Tua, Lewis and Maskaev is not a sign of a terrible chin. I think he has a below average chin but he is no Herbie Hide.
Well I have to agree with you on one thing - Rahman is George Chuvalo compared to Fraudley. But his chin is still VERY breakable - much worse than Wlad Klitschko, for example.
Can I also add that I am surprised by people writing off Rahman as a glass chinned joke. He took some big shots from Lewis before winning the first fight. He was not knocked down despite taking a ton of shots from Tua on the ropes like John Ruiz did. He was hurt by Corrie Sanders, but Corrie Sanders battered Wladimir around the ring. All of his ko defeats have been against big punchers. Lots of fighters are hurt in fights. It's boxing for FFS. I think this would be a very interesting match-up and would result in a Haye ko win in the middle rounds. I would question people who are saying Haye is an unknown in the UK. He has appeared regularly on very popular shows such as Soccer AM and has been a studio guest on a number of decent fights. He is one of Sky Sports' major fighters and has the potential to be a huge star in this country. I have though also followed the career of Rahman with interest ( I often root for the underdog) and would not write off the chance of an upset.
