Alright, well how abput HEARING one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI8bBYwLGUA I'm not trying to argue that Rahman is cast-iron, Zak. But if we're going to compare his chin to Mesi's we should ATLEAST look at the quality of opposition and the quality of punches each have taken in their careers. And in looking at that, the conclusion is.. ..the 1-2 that Lewis knocked Rahman out with = Murders Joe Mesi. :good
Why is everyone so hard on Rahman? He just gave fans yet another wonderful, exciting, action-packed fight. That fight with Zuri Lawrence was really fun. Two guys giving it their all, both in shape, fighting with passion, taking a bunch of bombs, and keeping an excellent pace for a heavyweight fight. I really liked the fight. It was full of drama, a regular war of attrition. Rahman was more consistent, but Zuri's lightning spurts were dangerous and gave me the sense that Hasim might get starched by one of them. When was the last time you saw a 240 pound man throw over 800 punches in 10 rounds? Sure Rahman gets hit and hurt a lot, but he also throws a lot and hurts his opponents a lot too. Makes for great drama. I remember a guy named Gatti who did the same thing. Give Hasim his just deserts!! Sadly, the Versus commentators sure didn't. They should have been more amped about a great fight. Instead they were ho hum about it and just focused on the negative. Doesn't make for thrilling t.v. Oh, and kudos to the referee for doing an excellent job.
Based on Rahman knocking Lawerence's ass into the crowd, and then TKOing him, he did better than Mccline did against Lawerence. Just because Peter was way over-hyped both in power and chin doesnt mean Mccline is a HW destroyer, like some are making him out to be. Christ, Mccline is 38, barely beat Rob Calloway on FNF's, lost to Lawerence recently.
Rahman vs Mesi in NY!!! Make the payday and get it over with:yep If they were to put Rahman in with W. Klitschko? It would be feeding him to a LION:-(
Rahman is a puncher , and he often just gets saved by his fire******* shots in most of his major fights.. His largest win was Lewis, and it has always been evident thatif Rahman leaves it to the scorecards he always makesit hard for himself.. He is less than convincing and has gone down majorly in stock in everyones opinion.. Lawrence did good work and stole a good few rounds and Rahman can't be happy with that. Rahman is good but no where near to what he was .. My opinion , he became topo content with the good life once the money arrived.
And I'm CERTAINLY not saying that Mesi's chin is cast-iron, far from it. But although he probably gets stopped by the guys who stopped Rahman (except perhaps Maskaev), I don't think he gets SO utterly KTFO'd. Guys with even halfway decent chins would at least get up from the shots that starched Rahman. Most of the time, he barely moved. That's a glass jaw, my friend!:yep
Sorry but I simply cannot agree with you. The Lewis and Maskaev punches would have koed a cow. Tua is a huge puncher but he didn't knock Rock off his feet, and Maskaev trapped Rahman in his corner in the second fight. Monte Barrett dropped Mesi FFS!!!!
