Better step up. This guy may have lots of losses but he hasn't been KO'd like 15 times in 17 losses. Only 6.

I think this is the fight Rahman may go deep into the fight before getting the KO.

Pretty much the same caliber. Pineda is fighting Ibragimov on the same card.

Timur Ibragimov-Rahman would be a good fight to watch.

This guy is actually taller than Rahman and isn't a blow up cruiser. Rahman is in there with a guy his size.

Should be a typical KO win to stay active. Hopefully he gets another fight in before the year is up and gets some kind of shot next year. I am willing to bet he fights Haye or Vitali. I know Rahman said he wants a Wladimir rematch...but I doubt that will happen.

^ yeah Rahman fought Wladimir once already ... I don't see the rematch happening anytime soon ... the public would groan.

I actually would wanna see Rahman try to avenge any loss. Holy, Maskaev, and Tua are all fights that become more winnable as time passes.

Luis Andres Pineda is not as easy opponent as you guys claim. In the past two years, Pineda fought a draw with Evans Quinn and lost a hard fought decision to Carl Davis Drummond. Thus, we know Pineda can hang in there with fairly hard-hitting heavyweights. Keep in mind that Pineda has 18 KO's in 21 wins, so he carries punching power.

Pineda's 2008 kayo lose to Palacios was almost certainly a bizarre fluke. I would write it off.

As for Marcus McGhee, he was once a durable trial horse known for lasting the distance against top quality opponents. But McGhee's last trick as a "survivor" occured in 2006, when he lost a decision to Jameel McCline. Since then, McGhee has been knocked out routinely. At nearly 40 years of age, it's questionable what McGhee has left.

Remember, too, that McGhee is a blown up cruiser, just like Pineda. McGhee fought at cruiserweight until 2002, then put on 25 lbs. Pineda is now fighting at around 240 lbs; he looks a lot like David Tua physically (although there's obviously a huge difference in ability between them.)

As for Rahman, his people must have some kind of plan for him, otherwise he would not be fighting in Panama on Oct. 2nd. The Panama card is a special event helf before the top executives of the WBA. Many of the guys fighting on the card are tentively scheduled for some kind of upward mobility with the WBA, such as Ibragimov, Solomon, etc. Rahman likely has a similar deal.

Today the WBA released its September 2010 world ratings. Rahman is #14, which is important. Ibragimov is now #10.

He will do what Briggs and Peter did, fight bums so he can win impressively, then get a title shot off his big name. Watch and see.

Was just coming to post these exact words...to toot my own horn I told Alcaldemb, an esb poster, this is exactly what he would do. If Briggs can do it time and time again, Rahman can certainly do it one more time.

I remember reading that Maskaev said he was not done fighting after his last loss, but that was a long time ago and there hasn't been any other word from Team Maskaev that I know of, so I believe he has now retired.

Pineda recently gave tough fights to Evans Quinn and Carl Davis Drummond. McGhee has been kayoed routinely in recent fights, and lacks power. I would say Pineda is the more dangerous trial horse.
