    gotta agree with Jenna here a couple pounds over is a non issue in a non title little signifance on the world stage type of fight an incorrect scales couldve caused it no biggie

    taking that money off delray was too much

    If he would have had Wednesday to sweet wait he would have easily lost the
    other 1.6 , But I do agree with you , Not honoring the contract is not
    very professional if you are a Golden Boy or a middle class American Like Raines. I bet in the future GB , Will take things like this more serious!

    well you should've pulled out then, and not now when your boy messed up.......if everything in the contract was shady, then why sign, travel, go thru stress, not make weight and then pull out .....makes 0 sense

    Does the fine get nullified for not taking the fight or will the Cali commision still consider that you owe them 2500 smackers? This would go from a minor setback to a huge tragedy if they somehow suspended the kid, wrecked his credit, or sought to collect by putting a garnishment out on him.

    ok...so lesser fighters that obviously have a team behind them that dont even believe in them should be let to come in overweight....even though THEY signed a contract at a certain weight...........wow

    thsi aint pac v mayweather cut raines some slack its easy for GBP to push these lesser fighters around, happens a bit from what I hear

    Well Fred , if they would have honored the contract and the promoises made then it would have been ok , WHat was I supposed to do , How was we supposed to know back in Arkansas that they were not gonna let him make
    weight !Not gonna give him the rooms that he was promised , Those things
    are why he did not make weight ! Them taking his money is why he is not fighting !Stop using your head for just something your friends set their beers on ,Doing this to a fighter is wrong man , you know that !

    So in other words an all around cluster****. Too bad, I feel for the kid but he obviously needs to get his **** together. Christ a few hefty bags and some duct tape would've made a suit easy enough, now how much has this fiasco cost him, never mind the breach of contract he could (and probably will) be sued for?

    I hope things go better for him in the future, its a hell of a way to make a living and I wish him the best of luck.

    But not setting in a car the day he is supposed to be making weight !
    Think about it , Agreeing with the guys on top don't make you

    It's a huge opportunity, which is presumably why you signed, so you should have gone ahead with it. The worst case scenario is that you lose $2500 but your boy, regardless of the outcome, gets massive exposure. That's guaranteed to get him bigger paychecks in the future, just by being on HBO. Obviously if he wins, you'll stand to make a massive amount compared to the $2500 you've lost with the fine.
