It just sounds so ****ing amateurish from Raines team.

Honestly, I get the impression that they are excited they're going to be on HBO and think they're big shots or something. I can't imagine this amount of fuss if they were dealing with a tomato can in Alabama or some shithole. The fact they're dealing with GBP, on HBO and the opponent is a top amateur, I get the impression it's got into their heads.

At the end of the day, they could have impressed HBO, GBP etc., and gone ahead despite the bull****. Instead, they're going to **** off both HBO and GBP and that means they have much less opportunity to make money in the future. Raines has already fought a couple of good guys, so if he was impressive, he could make it on HBO in the future even if he lost. That won't happen now.

$2500 is nothing, in the big scheme of things. This was the guys chance to make a name for himself and, instead, he'll be back to fighting bums who'll pad his record. Shame. Most guys would kill for this opportunity.

I also think the companies should do it for the fans. Despite any differences, the fans are the ones who'll get let down. I'm sure Raines had a few fans hoping to see him and I'm sure plenty of Cuban's wanted to watch Lara. Petty **** like this just hurts the sport.

Just another point, whilst $2.5k is a big number compared to his actual pay, you can't have one set of rules for the guy whose supposed to win and another for the guy who is supposed to lose. That would be impossible to enforce and just unfair anyway. it has to be one rule for everyone. Whether you're at the bottom or a world champion, rules are rules.

Delray Raines lives in the SOB Gym and pays the rent for it as his house...he lives in a gym! 400 dollars per month. 2500 is half a year of his housing/training complex plus 100 bucks for new underwear. That is a nice chunk in Arkansas. My apartment rent for a 1 bedroom is 485.

In fighting you have this purse and nothing else guaranteed. He should get his amount agreed upon.

He makes what he fights for...his 2011 is not looking Rosey. Delray only does side work. He hauls Stacy ring up to Oklahoma a lot and sets it up for the Showtime cards. He may make a bit here and there in a year training some dilrods. Maybe a bit off of rent by a few gym dues payments. Maybe a few bucks profit on some tshirt sales.

He pretty much makes all of his income from boxing, but he could probably be served well by doing some more travel sparring. He is definitely tough enough and tall enough to give good work to 154-160 guys.

For food and all that...I think he eats at Stacy's house in exchange for babysitting his sons or something.

FFS Stacy, you sound like a broken record now.

Let's have you list ALL those promises and contractual obligations they failed to meet.

"After Golden Boy has failed to meet several promises and contract obligations
Team Raines has decided to withdraw from the 10 round fight with Lara
    Tonight."

Why the hell can't you take legal action for this so-called breach of contract AFTER the damn fight??? Not that you have chances to win or anything, but you could at least add to Delray's wealth of opposition. If Delray is hungry, if you value this ****in sport and wanna get Raines in there with the most promising prospect he faced in over a year, why don't you take the fine and have the kid take his best shots at Lara in the first round? That'd show HBO Raines means business, that's actually a long term investment!!!!

Nah, you'd rather cry in the corner. Killing the sport. How's Delray feeling about all this?
