My bad - I didn't realize he was doing this the "hard way" as you've put it. Okay - he doesn't have to follow the rules, let him go in throw low blows, kidney shots, elbows... it's a meaningless fight anyways. May as well rob the audience too, lets cut the guy some slack, he's getting a low purse.
20K is tight, I was layed off and collected unemployment all of 2009...almost exactly 20K.....and of course, I was out hauling major league brush for a tree service and doing other jobs. If I had to live on just 20K gross, I would have to get a roommate. I make 40-55 depending on the hours of the year and that is still nothing to brag about. I always also feel bad for the tiny boxers. Those guys fight hard core title fights for like 20 grand. And IMO the toughest competition is at the smaller weights. There are just so many well coordinated guys and guys who are strong beyond their size down at those weights.
Best take I have seen....take the fight and fight like hell and then continue the to fight like hell for the rest of your money after. Best route to go.
Taught a lesson by who? You? That's not going to happen though, mate. I don't believe what they have done is right, but if you don't go ahead with the fight, you'll cut off your own nose to spite your face. You have nothing to gain by not going ahead, but everything to lose.
