Seriously not trying to be an ass about this but...

There was a contracted weight, right? If he didnt make it he didnt make it. I am sure it was known if there was a fine connected to not making weight, and if so, how much it would be (if this wasnt known its simply bad management). In other words, how would it not be known how much he was going to be fined if he didnt make the contracted weight?

And now, the person who didnt make weight, is pulling out?

I guess I just dont see the sob story some here are making it out to be.

    Where is the injustice again?

I agree he should have come in on weight or paid the fine and fought. All the training, travel expenses etc. etc. are now going to be an issue to pay I would imagine plus the purse loss.
Stacy says Delray is his own manager, then its his responsibility to see it through and he ****ed up, doesnt mean I cant feel for the guy......as others have said, this could have been a good showcase for him and possibly open up other doors.

3-400 a week for a few weeks every once in awhile wouldn't hurt him.

Good. Maybe Delray's jab can be enough to keep Lara at bay for 2-3 rounds provided he still sticks a couple combinations in there.

Otherwise Lara by devastating KO under 3.

For his own good, Raines needs to STOP being matched against opponents who are this far ahead of him in class.

For the second fight of his I've seen in a row, he was pitted against an opponent he had NO BUSINESS being in the same ring with, IMHO.

do you know how many times that was said about mickey ward? and he showed the world what he had. the only way to get better is by fighting someone better.

if i fought people like kid thunder my whole career id be garbage, but if i fought someone better than me my whole career and lost some and won some, im a better fighter, you learn from your mistakes and train harder to be better.

He had his nose broke again for sure.....he just can't take those power shots anymore since what happened to him in the Hearns fight.....once it heals, Delray should just fight on the club scene for awhile and build some wins.

    Come on man!
Have you SEEN his recent fights?

He's not getting any better. He is CLEARLY a fighter already in decline.

He may not even have the ticker for this still, but assuming he does, he is still deteriorating physically.

He may only be 24, but he's already suffered a lot of abuse against guys he had no business fighting.

He will never, ever beat fighters like Lara, Lemieux, or Hearns. NEVER! Those guys are far too talented for him.

    It's plain as day.
