Tecuapetla is a late sub for Ramos' originally scheduled opponent Francisco Rodriguez, Jr. (who dropped out sometime in the last 24 hours for unknown reasons)
Wow - even more impressive, not like Tecuapetla is some prospect. He came in 12-6-3 and was originally scheduled to be fed to 8-1 Edgar Garcia on this card, before he got tabbed as Chihuas' replacement. Ronald Ramos is 37-14-4. That's kind of an upset.
Yeah. Melindo struggled badly and was even decked. I still never would have expected Tecuapetla would stop Ramos, who only has four stoppage losses in 55 prior bouts (and those coming against the murderer's row of McWilliams Arroyo, Julio Ceja, Pingo Miranda and Giovani Segura...) let alone wreck him like that. Ramos was still down long after the ref had given up on the count.
Hinojosa vs. Bautista is a nice wild little brawl...still not going to watch it over Linares vs. Cano, though. :yep Hopefully they go the distance and buy us some time so the main events have minimal overlap...
