Im just glad i dont have to see Rosado take punches from a dude at least 2 weight classes bigger.

 

How do you miss weight by that much? Wouldn’t you know by about a week or so out that there is no way you can make it?

 

To echo what @drenlou and @Dubblechin noted, Ramirez is gigantic and way too big to be a light heavy. Hopefully, he will just move up to cruiserweight. The other aspect is that Rosado, game as he is, was going to get his head knocked in. So I am glad the fight isn't happening.

 

Unbelievable. He was supposed to fight Gabe Rosado this weekend but I don't know if the fight will now be scraped.

Starting to think Ramirez is Chavez Jr 2.0 although he has displayed top quality ability in the past he seriously lacks dedication.

 

WTF? I was really hyped up for this fight. Does Rosado lose his paycheck as well? Zurdo should hand over the
amount over to Rosado that he would have earned.

It´s a bully tactic and a shady way to get an advantage. If you reveal the weight issue before the fight, you give the opponent negotiation leverage. If you hide it until the weight in, you might force them to have to agree to fight you at a disadvantage.
Good on Rosado for having the fortitude to walk away. Less fortunate fighters might have been forced to take this fight due to just financial needs.

Btw, Rosado is really well off financially. For all of the beatings he has taken, he has earned his keep and kept it. I think it´s why he still is as dedicated as he is. This sport has treated him well, as ridiculous as it may seem.

Either heavily fine and suspend Ramirez or have the ABCs never sanction a fight with him in it at 175 again. Did he give an excuse? Why even show up to the weigh in and not feign an injury?
