    Round 4

Ramírez is doing lots of ducking in place and watching carefully, then popping up behind a jab, posing some more - no longer taking as much initative as he did in the previous couple of rounds. Cárdenas swiveling at the waist to slip the jabs and straight flurries of Ramírez and starting to lay some heavy counters in now that he's got the range & pace that suits him. Cárdenas with a left hand, best shot of an otherwise nip and tuck round.

    10-9 Cárdenas

    38-all

    Round 5

Cárdenas is starting to put combos together now with Ramírez sitting on the ropes. Nothing too speedy, but powerful and inevitable, and thrown fluidly one after the other. Cárdenas getting in some bomb uppercuts & hooks. Ramírez showing good whiskers but getting massively outgunned this round, popping jabs & flurries while circling but no real meaningful offense to compare with Cárdenas' artillery.

    10-9 Cárdenas

    48-47 Cárdenas

This is turning into a great fight, very contrasting styles - Ramirez is a little more compact with his punches inside while Cardenas has some really nice counters and moves well.

Cardenas starting to land hard shots and although Ramirez answers back they don't have the same pop to them.

Cárdenas pressuring behind a strong jab, and whenever he gets him ont he ropes attempting to decapitate Ramírez with hooks that might actually deliver their payload of fight-ending intentions were he not telegraphing so badly.

    Relatively uneventful round, Cárdenas close.

    58-56 Cárdenas

Ramírez may have gotten himself back on the horse in this one using perimeter movement & jabbing as Cárdenas' pressure remained constant but far more limpid.

    10-9 Ramírez

Joel Díaz screaming at Cárdenas in the corner.

    "What, are you tired?"

Cárdenas almost chuckling as he replies that he isn't tired. Not loving their chemistry in that corner...

Ramírez using a nice line drive right hand lead from a half-crouch to hold Cárdenas off. Still no second wind yet for the American.

    76 apiece.
