The UFC has far as I am aware have never released a single PPV buy rate. The numbers that do the rounds come from people like Meltzer, who have sources in the PPV industry. How accurate they are? Who knows. Something to bare in mind though, Meltzer reported the second Shamrock/Ortiz fight as doing 775,000 buys. Boxing people insisted that number was false. That it was a worked number. Years later when the UFC and Ken Shamrock were suing each other the number that came out in court was 775,000.
GBP/Mayweather have released official PPV numbers in the past. Zuffa never has. They don't give figures directly in the media, but they do have their paid lapdogs like Helwani throw a bunch of unsubstantiated numbers around. I refuse to believe any of it until they agree to release the official numbers.
Off topic, but still relevant to Rampage Jackson. I read recently he is making a some noise about wanting to fight Kimbo under boxing rules. In the article they very aptly referred to the possible bout as "circus like".
Kimbo beat one of our Aussie heavyweights on the Geale vs Mundine undercard 2 nights ago. It was an improved performance by Kimbo in what was nothing more than a straight-out slugfest, but our guy did came in on short notice and overweight.
Most of the UFC numbers that do the rounds come from Meltzer who gets them from his sources in the PPV industry. Do you believe that Meltzer is a paid UFC lapdog, and if so why?
i thought the aussie had called kimbo out, silly move if he was overweight and undertrained beating an aussie hw is no great accomplishment either to be honest mate, dont mean to be a **** but for such a great sporting nation your boxing standards down there is bloody terrible
