successful because he accumulated worthless victories. He's a bum. the 44 yr old randy couture took that opportunity to beat his ass cause HE KNEW what he had to do , to take care of a slowish , big guy like this. Tim Sylvia is a just a huge guy with KO power. He's garbage. THAT'S A REAL CHAMPION http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3133201569936738742
Im not debating that I just said the ones that were boxers at one time were washed up or was not able to cut it in the pros Most of these ufc guys suck and cant even throw a punch right half the punches they throw A 15 yearold with a little bit of boxing training could counter
But Couture got Ko'd twice by another crude boxer Liddell. No doubt Fedor is the real deal. Pride is so much better, both Liddell and Jackson couldnt cut it in Pride.
Couture (in his prime) already owned liddell ...then he lost twice against liddell... for 3 reasons... 1 ) couture's head movements weren't good enough 2 ) Liddell pocked the guy in the eyes (but couture continued anyway) 3 ) couture made the mistake to fight that guy in the same manner he did when they first met. That's irrelevant. Liddell is also a ONE DIMENSIONAL champion. an overrated champion. who in reality got his ass handed to him in 2003 , by quinton jackson (only it wasn't in the ufc). then when jackson came back to america...he owned liddell AGAIN , only in less than 2 minutes.
the same argument can be used for mma. not most , but ALL boxers also suck in judo , Bjj , greco roman wrestling , muay thai , kickboxing , sambo etc... I see what you're saying but you're talking about particular cases here. that's not what mma is about. mma is not about punching like a pro boxer. and looking good while doing it. mma is about using several disciplines and trying to beat your opponent with what you got. for example...most mma fighters suck at kickboxing... but that doesn't stop them from still using their kicks...
Yeah , to have easier fights. Anderson Silva ,and Rampage Jackson were UFC champion after like 2 fights!! After years of never winning the title in Pride , always falling a little short. Cro Cop being Ko'd was kind of a fluke, he totally underestimated his opponent , like he did Randelman.
Drop it man, in the same interview Judah admits he would get his ass beat, same as any other non extensively mma trained boxer. That was a very honest, cool interview.
That crude boxer was able to stand up and box due to his extensive wrestling background, NCAA D1, and his ability to scramble up if he does manage to get taken down, something Wlad does not have at all.
true. but that doesn't change the fact that liddell is an overrated and one dimensional fighter. who 1 ) couldn't ko the smaller jeremy horn in his rematch. 2 ) is still , scared shitless to fight on the ground (only relies on his sprawl). 3 ) kept fighting hand picked opponents... 4 ) had a needless rematch against the likes of ortiz , Sobral (guys he already beat). He took a real test this year , and it was against jackson... a guy who could wrestle...outpower him , and outstrike him...and the guy lost AGAIN.
mma is a sport anybody could get into and learn in about 6 months and be able to compete in less than 3 months Boxing takes over a lifetime to learn everything and years of practice before competing in anybody that boxed will tell you that
anybody can get into boxing too...your argument can be used for any sports actually. Only you're biased. so you can't have a neutral view on the subject matter. this is redundant..but here is a perfect example... Matt skelton is a 40ish boxer ...(and ex kickboxer) currently ranked at the 9th spot http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=141021&cat=boxer this is skelton under pride fc rules , in his prime [yt]sAIgNhVT3Zs[/yt] anyone can learn bjj , wrestling , judo , sambo , muay thai....but being "good" at it is also another story. for example there's tons of black belts in judo who will never win an olympic gold let alone bronze or even qualify for the olympics.
Nobody has KO'd Horn He isn't scared shitless to fight on the ground, thats just good strategy, why would you want to fight anywhere but where you have an advantage? When he doesn't have the advantage on the feet he goes for takedowns, see his fights against Overeem and Pele. He fought who was in front of him, name one fighter he ducked? This is the guy who fought Babalu just to stay busy before he got his title shot, the guy who chose to enter the 2003GP just so he could get a chance to fight Silva. Who should he have fought instead of Babalu or Tito? Oh no, he lost to Ramapage, that totally discredits his whole career.
Then where are all these people? The money is better at the top of the MMA foodchain than the middle of the boxing foodchain, so all these superhumans who can "learn it in 6 months" can go from unknown to superstars, and yet nobody is doing it.
You obviously never laced up a pair of gloves before because if you did you would know its way easier to learn how to do ufc than boxing some muscle bound ex football player who couldnt cut it in the pros for whatever reason steps into K1 and is one the biggest names in the sport sapp couldnt last 1 minute in a fight with wlad or even james toney but yet beat alot of there best hoost and others he was sloppier than an ex porn stars vagina get real maybe you should swallow gun and do everyone this site a favor
