I understand tyson has no shoot defense but once he seen him shoot as low as tyson got in 80s your telling me lindells head wouldnt be in prime postion for a decapitating uppercut that would end it I think your trying too hard i understand what your saying but in all honesty and not saying i could ever beat lindell im almost sure i could hit him though as soon as i see him shoot i would step to the side and unload tyson is a trained pro Im not sure how many street fights or mma fights you got into in your career but you got to ******ed to say i could shoot and grab you faster than you can throw a punch the answers common sense

Man...Zab was funny...lol the **** he said about merchant.....classic....."Did the punch really hurt?" ....lol classic ****....Anyway a prime mike tyson or any tyson has a 50/50 chance of winning against good MMA guys... Tysons arm punches could knock you out....he could crouch and had super fast hands for a heavyweight..If anybody could catch one of those dry humping MMA guys it would be a Tyson like boxer.

You never seen a boxing match live i could tell, cause if you did you would realize how fast and powerful heavywieght boxers truly are. And yes if lindell did shoot he would be at striking distance for a tyson uppercut seeing that tyson would get very low understanding that chuck would try and take him down. And if you asked me now who would least rather fight in a street fight I would say tyson.

You are just flat out stupid, you think you can stop a D1 wrestler from taking you down? Especially one who's become a millionaire by fighting for a living? If you're so confident, go try that **** on your local college wrestling team, see if you can just "move to the side" as they repeatedly slam you on your head and hopefully de-moronize the remaining 5 brains cells your punk ass has left.:good

You sound like a little girl at the end of your post. These our your opinions not facts and wether you know more about boxing than me im not sure, current boxing i doubt it though. You sound like one of them guys who run there mouth and when they get ****ed up because of it you want to sue everyone, thats just a guess. You seem pro mma and im pro boxing so i guess theres really no dicscussing with you because your not going to change my mind and im not going to change yours.

You're basically talking **** about Chuck Liddell and saying he couldn't take you down, and he's the one running his mouth?

    What a ******.

    Make up your mind.

And Tyson has absolutely the same experience stopping takedowns as you do, absolutely none.

The most bogus assumption in this discussion is that the best athletes who are in a combat sport will always go into the one that makes the most money. Do we assume that because baseball players make more money on average than NBA or NFL players that they’re better athletes? **** no we don’t. Some guys like baseball when they’re kids and so they do baseball. It’s not like they play basketball until they realize they’re good athletes and say “**** football, I can make more money in baseball” and try baseball. Being world class at anything takes so much time and dedication that there is no way you’d ever get there if you weren’t really into it. Even if you could, by the time you get to be old enough it’d be too late to learn baseball. You have to start young or it will never happen (exceptions exist of course; Kenny Rogers for instance). Some kids like wrestling, so they wrestle. Some kids like karate, so they do that. In other countries judo and wrestling may have more prestige than boxing. You can’t judge the level of athlete that way at all. The reason they look like **** when they punch is mostly because the form is mutated because they have to look out for kicks, knees and takedowns. There are some accomplished boxers in UFC (Marcus Davis was having a decent career before he switched) and they don’t fight like boxers. They can’t, and next to someone who is optimized for boxing it looks bad. It better at least, or the pure boxer guy have had bad coaching his whole life.

As for Wlad or any other boxer being able to just jab at range until he can knock some hybrid kickboxer/wrestler out, try this next time you spar: Have your sparring partner see how many times he can tag you on the knee. Ask yourself if you’d have knocked him out coming in with smaller gloves on. A good wrestler would take you down anytime he gets close enough to grab leg if you haven’t practiced defending it against good wrestlers for many years. I’m not sure who said it, but the idea that anyone can train for a few months and compete in MMA is either flaming or an idiot. Even local MMA fights nowadays have guys in them with YEARS of training, much less the guys at the very top.

As for the Sylvia/Wlad MMA fight, the reason Sylvia almost always ends up just boxing is because that’s where he has the advantage over almost everyone and so that’s where he keeps it. Against Wlad he’d have the advantage on the ground and he’d certainly try to take it there. I suspect he would and would win the vast majority of these sorts of matches.

    LIDDELL, TWO D'S, NO N.

And yes, if Chuck stands and gets hit he will lose, but basic physics and years of watching strikers face grapplers in MMA, shows us that it is much less likely to land a one punch KO before the other person without them ever taking you down, than it is to avoid a punch and land 1 takedown.
