Wlad has a good 40 or 50 pounds on Rampage. Kind of a dumb matchup. They will both lose when theyre outside of their element. Stop talking about this bull**** shot a boxer will land as an mma guy closes range for a takedown or clinch. It never happens. If any of you guys saw the UFC ppv last weekend.. look what Couture did in that fight. There is no friggin way in hell Wlad can deal with that. Boxing aficionados really don't understand how fast a wrestler can go for a shot or a clinch.
Heres the problem dummy.. Top level strikers have been in MMA. Top level kickboxers who's style translates MUCH MUCH better than boxing. And you know what happens 99% of the time? They get taken down and pounded out. You can't box like a boxer when takedowns are in play. It doesnt work. Its been proven over and over and over.
When you say top level strikers who are we talking about here? All im saying is if Wlad was to fight Rampage in the octagon he would have at least a punchers chance in there, if Rampage was to step in the boxing ring he would have no chance to win.
[yt]Oqkvl5YvH7Y[/yt] Watch this video. Seriously.. watch it. Do you think theres a boxer in his weightclass that could stand with him in kickboxing match? He was tapped in his only mma fight in less than 3 minutes.
I honestly believe any boxer has a punchers chance in the ufc ring, I would think they least have a decent chance of knocking someone out.
Im not saying a boxer would dominate in the ufc all im saying is they would have a chance, look at phil baroni I know he got his ass kicked by shamrock but he knocked out some decent fighters and was pretty popular and a boxing boxing background.
I no I have a tape of him somewhere, but there was a pro boxer who went to the ufc and won a title there in the lightwieght division. His pro record in boxing was like 25-5 I think something like that, can you recall the fighter he was champ in like 03.
Jens Pulver.. He was also a wrestler.. and trained bjj. He was effective because of his wrestling training.. he had good takedown defense. Much like Chuck Liddell..
no but I think he fougt Bj Penn in like 02 or 03 I remember seeing this guy on friday night fights then seeing him again a year later in the ufc.
The guy im thinking of might of fought for the title not held it, but I know he was a contender in the ufc at the time.
I will have to check my tapes and see if I could find it I have a fight of him in the ufc and one of him boxing.
