Rampage is doing what he feels is best for him. A lot of us make career decisions at some point in our life that may or may not end up being good decisions. Yes, we may all look back on this in the future and say "Wow, Rampage really did the screwed." But if you're Rampage, wouldn't you rather take a chance and co-star in a big budget action film instead of taking the safe route and being left to wonder what could have been? Besides, does anyone here really think that he can't come back and fight in MMA after this? It doesn't take all that long to shoot a film. Which is why I said earlier that I think he was dumb to spurn the UFC and announce his retirement.
He sure as **** did; the guy intentionally put on a horrible fight, admitted to intentionally putting on a horrible fight. What the **** else would you have had him do? Of the top of my head look at the Leben probation violation and Melvin cocaine situation. Leben has stepped up and done the UFC well several times, so despite being replaceable (I'm a fan but let's be honest), Dana takes care of it and keeps Leben making a living. Melvin was a ****ing cokehead who failed a post fight test, meaning he had done coke within the week of training for the biggest fight of his life, he goes to rehab, gets clean, and is given a great opportunity that he certainly wasn't owed. Ross Pointon is way below UFC standard, but since he stepped up to fight Bisping, in a higher weightclass no less, he gets to fight a few times in the big show, which is a resume that he used to make his career on. Dana takes care of guys that are straight with him; guys like Kalib get thrown away because that is what you do with garbage.
I see you were or are not ofay with Starnes situation. And Dana keeps Leben because he puts bums on seats. Dont try and kid anyone with this warm fuzzy bull**** like Dana is such a darn nice guy.
I am not saying he is Mr warm and fuzzy; I'm saying for a guy in charge of a couple hundred employees, and has a working relationship with about the same number of potential or former employees, he is generally a fair guy who generally gives his employees the respect they deserve; often a little bit more than they deserve.
He's a businessman and to be successful and give the fans the fights they want he has to be ruthless in his field & make the fights fans want to see but that doesn't make him a bad person & is why he was able to turn a small fringe organization into a multi million dollar industry which is something you clearly will never be able to do.
