It wont be his chin he'll be tapping it will be Rampages legs. Smart money says Lyoto. But if Rampage actually comes into camp in shape and focus's on a game plan to beat Lyoto then he's in with a very good shout. This fight all depends on what Rampage turns up.

This has been speculated forever, and now it's official? Semi-official? Whatever...

This is a stylistic nightmare for Rampage. Punchers chance. He better land it...

Exactly. If any weaknesses have been further exploited by his recent opponents is that he does not protect his legs, does not make adjustments, which can lead to further accumulative damage to his legs. In addition, sometimes he can follow a guy around without doing anything. This can be very bad for him if he isn't quick enough to catch Machida coming in (see Machida vs T. Silva).

This is a great fight because I can see either one winning. If I have to choose - I'll go with Machida by TKO. I think he can stop Rampage in more ways than just kicking his legs. I wouldn't be surprised to see Machida KO Rampage.

Unless Rampage fights hyper agressive Shogun style, he is going to get KTFO in the 3rd. Although There is always a chance Rampage could KO Machida though.

    it's a great division
    and we still have
    Jon Jones
Minotouro (his last fight was bad but I believe he will do better next time)
and Anderson Silva if he wins against Sonnen and Belfort

yea i wanna see jon jones fight minotouro or a tiago silva next. I want to see how he'll do against the top dawg of the 205 lbs division.

Tiago Silva vs Jon Jones should be action packed fight

I can't believe Thiago Silva has been pushed to the undercard at UFC 117.

This is the worst possible style match-up for Rampage. The difference in speed and footwork is going to be insane. Machida by 2nd round TKO after a complete and utter domination.

Yep, Machida is a very smart fighter.

Pretty much guarantee he will employ leg kicks to slow down the already plodding Rampage so he can just pick him apart.

The sort of strikes Machida uses, as Rogan has pointed out aren't the type you can set up for counters very easily, when he's using that style of his where he moves and doesn't set to throw strikes..

He really has two standup styles.. He uses that peppering style to keep opponents off balance and to frustrate them.. Then he uses his Shotokan when they start getting careless, he really can open up with hard shots in combination.

This is at least my interpretation of his standup style.

Rampage is in for a Shogun/Wanderlai type of beating. The end is near for this bum.

:patsch Geez man your posts are getting worse dude. Agreed that Machida is a tough opponent for Rampage because of styles. But Wandy/Shogun beatdown? Bum?
