If you go back and read my post, notice I said that a boxer has a better chance against a "striking mma fighter"
Alot of mma fighters dont specialize so much on takedowns more than they rely on striking, thats why they are called strikers.

I agree though, a boxer would'nt stand much of a chance against a grappler in an octagon cage.

This is the way I've always seen it.

A top boxer would have A chance against a top UFC fighter in the octagon. It may only be a slim chance, but he'd have A chance.

But a UFC fighter, would literally have no chance whatsoever, of beating a top boxer in a boxing match.

The ironic part is that he actually trained extensively at a boxing gym when he was younger and he's still a fan of the sport to this day. Dana's all business though. Can you blame him?

That's because boxers master the art of movement and punching. UFC/MMA is a mixture of all in one. Wrestling, punching, canvas mounting...etc

i read what you wrote. even a "striking mma fighter" will take down a boxer after the first missed punch.....just because grappling is second on their arsenal list, he will still be taken down immediately

Not if he does'nt get the chance.

The fight does'nt just start and the boxer is just there for the takedown.
